11-23-2025 MY WEEK: falling into fashion

my work week was super hectic, and i was scrambling all over the place (including treading most of northeast ohio and bordering pennsylvania). nevertheless, i think i maintained not looking scrambled.

this week i was coming down off the birthday high but also focusing on the calm before the storm of the upcoming holiday frenzy. spent most days at the yoga studio when i wasn't driving around for work, and i was catching up on my book. catching up with bestie victoria for turkish coffee saturday morning was a sweet spot too, as well as watching the cavs graciously lose wednesday night. we still had a blast (thank you victoria's boyfriend for the tix!), and it helped halfway through the stressful work week.

sib and i wrapped up the week with well-deserved window shopping in chagrin falls, and we visited a tea store (sib bought some premium green teas), a leather and fur store (amazing coats and hats, and i saw the cutest earmuffs). before you call me unethical, i challenge you to think about this: fur and leather have been used since the dawn of man, and plastic alternatives are so much more harmful to the planet, ourselves, and animals too. i think peta needs to revisit what the actual dangers are around us and pick your poison. i'm content with mine.

anyways, back to lighter topics! sib and i bought some cute thanksgiving plates for our upcoming friendsgiving party and got coffee and tea at heartwood cafe. to wrap up, our mandatory stop every time we go to the falls - past meets present vintage designer store. my fave place to window shop and admire rare and unique designer pieces that cost half my paycheck. upon window shopping, sib and i spotted the cutest jean paul gaultier mesh top. gaultier mesh tops are hard to find and often sell out quickly on therealreal. i couldn't help but try it on, eyeing sib who was also doing the math. if both of us split the cost, and we can both wear it, it would be a good investment. between the two of us, the cost doesn't sound as terrifying. in mint condition - out here in the wild, and it fit. i'll share more about how i plan to style it in this week's inspo.

this week's looks

it was fall fashion review in my closet, and i went down the list of all styled looks i made throughout the year, whether for the blog or my pure enjoyment. if you remember in the summertime , i did a similar challenge with stuff i styled but haven't had a chance to wear. hypothetical looks, i guess. this week i put theory into practice and tested out what i came up with "on paper".

monday for work i pulled a very recent look. this is one of the boho chic looks from the teen magazine ok je ok!'s fall style review. looking at it now, it really wasn't boho enough. lot's of the stuff here is in my croset, so i used my american counterparts. not seen in the mirror pic (which i match with), was the coat that really made this boho - a vintage camel color suede coat with fur collar.

monday night sib and i went back to yoga after a long hiatus, and i found inspiration from my melani safari hyperfixation. a simple fit that is both casual and classy, i decided to enhance the casual, sporty part. added a jacket (need the layers with the weather), swapped heels for uggs, and shoulder bag for tote.

tuesday for work i styled my cashmere sweater. it was part of style my haul, and i wanted to visualize various ways to wear the top. since that post, i have actually worn this top numerous times, including last week for my birthday party fit! this one, though, i didn't need to revamp at all. i wore a black skirt, black tights with blue, silver and gold florals, navy uniqlo bag, blue sunnies, and doc martens fisherman loafers. the subtle navy details, with warm tones of the sweater, and yellow bits in the shoes and tights - i enjoyed this fit a lot!!!

tuesday night sib and i did another yoga session. this time i pulled inspiration from illustrations by emmzonn. there's tons of fall winter looks i thought would be easy to recreate. i focused on the left girl in the illustration, and made it more yoga-appropriate. swapped black denim for low rise sweats, added yoga top and a calvin klein padded vest, kept the ear muffs and betsey johnson bag.

initial look - throwback!

wednesday's look was a funny blast from the past. you all know i'm a sucker for nostalgia, and so i tapped into some old looks of mine. in high school, i wore a green knitted top, tattoo choker and layered necklaces, with skinny jeans (and my nerdy glasses, shitty phone, and outgrown hazel grace hair - could it be more 2015 than this?). ten years later, a revamped look. hair - grown out, no glasses (contacts only), ralph lauren mint sweather, rebecca minkoff dark wash jeans, and a wiry choker and other jewelry. the rest of the look - kind of a mess, ugg slides, betsey johnson crossbody bag, and a military style oversized jacket. you can see here i was starting to scramble at work

for the basketball game wednesday night,  i earned my stripes by following british vogue's f/w style trend keywords. this subtly striped blouse was paired with y2k low rise jeans, added a vintage leather jacket and small heel boots, hoops and hair clip. the coach wristlet was great for the stadium.

another british vogue inspo for thursday at work: maximalism for minimalists. i swapped the black tee for a turtleneck, and i can't find my black beanie, so we went without and compensated with a multitude of jewelry. i've been stacking more bracelets as of late, between that and rings i jingle so much because i talk with my hands.

friday i went back to the teen magazine, and the take on animal print. all black look, to make sure the ocelot printed scarf is in spotlight. swapped for a different black skirt this time as i already wore the initial skirt this week and added tights.

friday night i had an appointment and found this cozy look from when i covered one direction imagines. too bad i didn't go to the mall with harry in this cozy feature.

saturday we hosted bestie victoria at our place for some turkish coffee, and my look was inspired by eleanor calder. a bit revamped with more of the stuff i haven't worn in a while, and sans sneakers and jacket (didn't go out).

sunday for our window shopping walk in chagrin falls, i wore another melani safari look. only change was the shoes - i opted for comfy converse.

what am i looking forward to this week?

the official start of the holiday season begins this week. we're going to be running errands and i have some last minute appointments, and the parties are starting - blackout wednesday, hosting friendsgiving, thanksigiving with various families and at work, and black friday shopping. let the games begin!
