  right before leaving for croatia, fiancé and i indulged in old martha stewart   shows, and often took naps as these shows were so comfy.  the following pages accompanied me when i couldn't fall asleep on the plane ride to croatia - martha stewart living, november 1999 : i grew up with a version of martha: my mom who was a stay-at-home mother. she made paths and crafted landscapes for our barbies among her black-eyed susans, made us part of baking experiences, whether it was sorting lasagna or stealing a bite of raw cookie dough. her garden won best garden of our hometown benkovac many years ago, and she still continues to transform the concrete slab of a backyard into an oasis you could comfortably take a nap in in the afternoon sun or watch the stars. mom gardening was my favorite therapy in middle and high school. i would vent, and she would weed.  being so inspired with hosting and homesteading, i paid lots of attention to my own martha.  propagating h...
