what i’m  watching… twas the night before my flight and i was too antsy to sleep. i also wanted to stay up to watch creations come to life in sib’s sweatshop. so i watched  bill cunningham new york . a quirky documentary about the legendary street photographer bill cunningham, his behind the scenes process for his weekly article in the new york times, and just a profile on his childlike character. it was so adorable and fun. his humble work ethic is one you do not see in the swarm of influencers.  bill’s famous sunday spreads  on the plane, i attempted to watch charli xcx’s film the moment. it’s a mockumentary-style film in production with a24. i liked the graphics separating certain parts of the film, and the dude next to me kept looking over. seizure warning for sure. i never finished  it because i kept falling asleep.  what i'm listening to... this week, in honor of her birthday, mom was the playlist director  for the blog. mom is really int...

  what i'm reading... i finished almost reckless  by amy smilovic , founder of tibi . a light and refreshing read on the definitions of success  and how there really is no failure, just an alternate path of life. amy talks about taking risks in an "almost reckless" manner and doing work unorthodox. it's not wrong, it's "me". i like the brand, i own a tee and a pantsuit set. tibi  is defined as creative pragmatist . high quality materials and fabric, essentials and "capsule" items with a twist, something "creative". while i may not be able to afford a whole tibi closet, i am sold on the philosophy . amy is known for posting instagram stories with styling techniques for simple outfits, turning boring minimalistic and "safe" outfits into creative, well thought masterpieces. simple - but effective! i'll be looking for more advice from the tibi team in the future for sure. while doing my easter nails , i glanced through a  mi...

  what i'm watching... sib and i binged the first part of bridgerton season 4 , focusing on benedict bridgerton's  cinderella story. how to these producers make each sibling turn hotter when it's their season. this needs to be studied.  per usual, sib and i were having fits of shock and hysteria as any regency fine lady would among these rakes. while the plot at first felt too on-the-nose with the cinderella trope, the slow burn, the "written for women" moments get me every time, and episode 4 got us running laps around the house because the tension was too high.  "our cortisol levels spiked" as the kids would say nowadays. sib and i gave in - we went and saw wuthering heights , featuring margot robbie and jacob elordi.  sib and i both read the book, albeit more recently. we did not have a fantasy of heathcliff at 14.  i'm conflicted. i genuinely liked the soundtrack, the costumes and visuals, as well as the set. margot robbie's portrayal of cath...

  books of the week i read the september issue  of l'officiel. loved the article on manolo blahnik 's marie antoinette collection, and his thoughts on shoes: with a focus on craftsmanship, comfort, and "a touch of eccentricity," blahnik's designs are rooted in wearability.
