❄here's my absolute christmas masterlist - containing everything from tchaikovsky, to justin bieber, to croatian holiday classics.

❄this playlist is my holiday time machine. each song is pre-2006, and each one was also recorded on tape by my mom, when our local radio station star 102.1 used to be soft rock 102.1 - these used the be the only songs we would replay growing up in croatia. i even memorized when the tape would stop, the random ads my mom caught on tape, and what song comes next, or which one skipped.

books of the week

i read daisy jones and the six. wow - what an ending?! a bit heartbreaking, but hopeful.

i am starting to read belle du seigneur by albert cohen, a huge romance (?) book from the 1930s... i think. it's about the size an average dostoevsky book is. i think i got this book recommendation from the book how to be parisian.

finally, bestie nicole gifted me a wonderful cookbook - appetites by anthony bourdain. it is an amazing punk rock cookbook. guess who's cooking in the residence from now on?

movies of the week

full holiday spirit this weekend as sib is choosing the xmas movies:

we watched joy to the world - a hulu movie with chad michael murray. this one made me so anxious i had to walk around the house to calm down. not my vibe, i need something cute and cozy.

we also watched an insane movie a christmas karen - a movie that's crazy accurate and still necessary (made in 2018). super low budget, but clever and contemporary.

finally, does watching ash trevino cringe compilations count as a friendsgiving movie?
