8-23-2026 MY INSPO: back-to-school according to the re-runs

it’s back to school season, and while this life chapter has long ended for me, the nostalgia is there. with the temperatures dropping ever slow slightly from humid and gross 90s to delightful mid-70s and cool evenings, it seems there’s more kids out than all summer long. not only do the temps contribute to this, but it seems like the kids are excited to socialize now that school is back in. i see them walking in packs, preteens running and training in parks, the roads are saturated by the busses and traffic… the small towns seem alive again?!  here in the midwest, in the usa in general - the ‘highs and lows of high school’ are almost ritualistic and sacred. football games, proms, and the emotions of teenagerhood that always seem larger than life. i almost (key word - almost) envy the back-to-school vibe. i loved exchanging summer stories full of adventure. my highlights were usually getting a bunch of clothes from america that no one has seen before - sparkly peace sign embellished...

8-2-2026 MY FAVES: away from the mountains, please

  what i'm watching... here and there i catch up with some pretty little liars  episodes with sib. i can't stand aria but i'll always hate fitz more. emily is the prettiest, and probs my fave. i want spencer to be my fave but she makes so many mistakes, i just wish her evil sister would give her a break! every time i see that bitch i think of the evil guy from titanic. what i'm reading... completed  tri drame na everestu  by mountaineer stipe božić . the mountaineers involved in this quest have written their own povs, and it's really cool  božić adds them into his own books, giving us descriptions from each angle. personally, i have no desire to ever go mountaineering. i like skiing, only for the fancy chalets and skiwear. sib would love to visit everest's base camp, possibly doing some environmental work would feel like a good way to justify a trip there? the thought of never-ending snow, risk of frostbite and high chance of death - sorry, i'm a mediterrane...
