  work this week almost broke my spirit - just difficult issues to handle left and right, and while i tried practicing being zen, and i even did my confession at the beginning of the week, i still called sib bitching about work on my way home.  i had good friday off and i was happy to focus on church obligations for the holiday, rather than everyday work stuff. thankfully, the croatian catholic church keeps you busy. friday  procession and bowing to the cross, saturday  blessing of the food, and sunday  the actual easter mass. not to mention numerous other events we don't attend. the weather was pleasant all weekend long (sans easter day), making church outfits fun to style, and it was a great opportunity to take afternoon walks, see friends, and have good food outside. astrology and religion kind of match here with the "rejuvenation" trope, the reawakening and rebirth. new year should start now - people would probably find better motivation to complete their re...

are you feeling the twitch of cabin fever? the weeks are looking dull, and i am trying to keep busy with reading and watching movies in the afternoon. we got snowed in on thursday - like i got to work from home! i used the opportunity to get my nails done (as promised) in between supervisions and paperwork.  since it's been months since i did my nails, i wanted a simpler design but still maximalist. had my nails shorter. i was a bit rusty, but overall, very satisfied with the outcome! and i really thought i wasn't going to fall victim of the polka dot trend. you guys can see that sib and i have been using out indoor time to experiment on makeup, we also resorted to trying hairstyles. i bought french pins a year or two ago - for when i finally do my breakfast at tiffany's costume. and i also find it so chic! * i am so going to go off tangent for a minute: i know i said chic  was a word that was out for me in 2026, but my spirit guide sib enlightened me: why can't everyth...

  the set scentlist a signature scent is something every magazine, girl, tiktok, talks about, almost all the time. scents in general are powerful time capsules. the smell of coffee and cigarettes reminds me of a cafe in croatia, or my mom's old friends visiting for coffee and gossip when i was a kid. my mom follows marilyn monroe's advice and sticks with chanel n°5 , and she'll remind us that the elizabeth taylor white diamonds  scent was what reminds her of her wedding with our dad.  there was an aeropostale perfume in 2012 that reminded me of happy days when i was finishing up middle school, including my first serious heartbreak, or a first hidden cigarette behind our gym. i think i found it on fragrantica, but it's been discontinued since. when we were kids, sib and i had a mary kate and ashley olsen perfume, perhaps our first ever perfume. can we consider that archival the row ? my mom used to collect perfume bottles when she was in her twenties, and i thought tha...
