books of the week i completed unmask alice  and this book was an incredible investigation. if you have any interest in the satanic panic of the 70s, as well as anti-drug propaganda, this book will take you start to finish on how these social events happen - these fearmongering events and moral panic (which we'll be seeing more in this political climate we're currently in). if you've crossed paths with alice   (go ask alice by "anonymous") in your childhood, this book is a great eye opener.  i also read the latest may edition  of vogue , with a$ap rocky on the cover, honoring him as co-chairman of the met gala. i began reading b-guided>.   this is not necessarily a book, but rather a magazine/guide about trending fashion, nightlife, art, and architecture in barcelona . i got #17 autumn 2003 from a local library book sale. if you're into the gen x soft club aesthetic revival , here's a perfect guide to the trends of the times, if you're lookin...

books of the week i completed my reading of medium raw.  my takeaway? the all american hamburger died some time ago. what would anthony bourdain think about the millennial burger joint meme circulating?  i want to try a tasting menu one day in this lifetime, as well as to visit a michelin rated restaurant.  my new read is unmask alice  by rick emerson . i read the book go ask alice  when i was in 4th grade, and it left a mark on my impressionable preteen brain. this book, however, uncovers the truth and backstory on how this controversial book/diary was actually a total scam, and how it boosted the drug panic and satanic panic (as the "anonymous author" also wrote a similar diary about a teenage satanist). i am so excited to dive into this investigative piece. 15 years later, let's uncover the truth about alice.

music of the week      my  road trip playlist for my pennsylvania trip was curated the moment i booked out hotel stay. this playlist came to use during all the driving we did. besides that, sib and i listened to gaga, old and new, while crossing the ohio-pa border. and on our way back from hershey to pittsburgh, we listened to some very old panic! at the disco songs, with insane titles. i know each song but couldn't tell you what they're called. do you also think that this genre is the reason why millennials are the way they are?      every time i stay at a hotel, i like to check and see if they have profiles and playlists on spotify. i'm currently listening to songs from the kimpton  hotel. before you ask if this is elevator music, it most absolutely could be described as that. but the vibe is impeccable.
