03-16-2025 MY FAVES: millennial artists, pop art-ists, and scam artist

 music of the week

my road trip playlist for my pennsylvania trip was curated the moment i booked out hotel stay. this playlist came to use during all the driving we did. besides that, sib and i listened to gaga, old and new, while crossing the ohio-pa border. and on our way back from hershey to pittsburgh, we listened to some very old panic! at the disco songs, with insane titles. i know each song but couldn't tell you what they're called. do you also think that this genre is the reason why millennials are the way they are?
every time i stay at a hotel, i like to check and see if they have profiles and playlists on spotify. i'm currently listening to songs from the kimpton hotel. before you ask if this is elevator music, it most absolutely could be described as that. but the vibe is impeccable.

movies of the week

does watching andy warhol short films in his museum count? sib and i will be finding his films this week.

books of the week

i've been enjoying svjedok pokojnih - it's a really good murder mystery that takes place in 1980s berlin, pre-fallen wall, and in the present.
during one of our walks this week, sib and i will usually glance at our neighborhood's little library (we also make contributions ourselves when we finish a book we feel content with parting with). we found a book called unmask alice - that describes the true identity behind the book go ask alice and the satanic panic of the times.
i've been a big reader since forever (r l stine books and junie b jones hated to see me coming), and when my teacher in 4th grade recommended this book (dnevnik jedne narkomanke - literally translated as diary of a drug addict), i was super intrigued. this book left such an impact on me and it was until many years later, i found out this book was a total scam. i'm really curious to learn more about this.
