PeSuit and Tie

  i hope everyone celebrated earth day well! i was struggling mid-week with an unexpected cold that forced me to take various concoctions, and the only thing that healed me was napping the rest of my tuesday away.   i'm back from the dead though, and i was happy to see boyfriend wearing the cutest "all-around-the-world" outfit: this man never shies away from color. his distinctive look is a neon work jacket, mismatched graphic socks and what he describes as "bill cosby sweaters" - we're looking for a more appropriate name. boyfriend got this hat from his aunt who recently traveled to machu picchu, and if you peep his collar, underneath the sweater, he is wearing a traditional shirt from mexico, a gift from his grandma who recently traveled there. i was obsessed with this boyfriend-staple. i guarantee his tallness combined with the colors overshadow even my boldest looks. on friday we visited bestie vic  - at a funeral home, as her grandpa passed. but we want...

  work this week almost broke my spirit - just difficult issues to handle left and right, and while i tried practicing being zen, and i even did my confession at the beginning of the week, i still called sib bitching about work on my way home.  i had good friday off and i was happy to focus on church obligations for the holiday, rather than everyday work stuff. thankfully, the croatian catholic church keeps you busy. friday  procession and bowing to the cross, saturday  blessing of the food, and sunday  the actual easter mass. not to mention numerous other events we don't attend. the weather was pleasant all weekend long (sans easter day), making church outfits fun to style, and it was a great opportunity to take afternoon walks, see friends, and have good food outside. astrology and religion kind of match here with the "rejuvenation" trope, the reawakening and rebirth. new year should start now - people would probably find better motivation to complete their re...

  this week i share my travelogue  of sib and mine weekend trip to the columbus' suburbia. my work bestie recommended sib and i do a weekend trip and visit westerville, a quaint suburb of columbus. sib and i aching to get out the house after such a winter hibernation, we booked a hotel there and decided to leave friday after work, then spend a full day and leave on sunday. while it's not fully spring yet and the first night and morning were cold, no snow or rain caught us at all.  day #1 left a bit late because sib's work dragged on. got a mcdonalds fish filet sandwich and we rode into the sunset, arriving at dusk. as we check in, the front desk girl mentioned a "heated pool". sib and i perked up. neither brought bathing suits. we usually don't utilize amenities and seldom get a hotel that even has a pool. so we drag ourselves to target to grab some necessities, including flip flops and bathing suits. i dreaded every moment of spending for stuff i know i have ...
