4-26-2026 MY WEEK: one with the earth
i hope everyone celebrated earth day well! i was struggling mid-week with an unexpected cold that forced me to take various concoctions, and the only thing that healed me was napping the rest of my tuesday away.
i'm back from the dead though, and i was happy to see boyfriend wearing the cutest "all-around-the-world" outfit:
on friday we visited bestie vic - at a funeral home, as her grandpa passed. but we wanted to be there for her, and i was stunned at her beauty. like the fleabag episode where fleabag looks gorgeous for her mother's funeral, bestie vic looked so good - wearing a simple black mini dress, armored in patent heels and pearls, we got to meet her grandma, a matriarch full of grace. we talked about the importance of heirlooms as her grandma pointed out vic's tennis bracelet, an heirloom gifted by her late grandpa to the grandma, then to vic, being the first-born granddaughter. no one likes wakes and funerals, but it was nice to reconnect with our friend, share a laugh in times when one may need it the most. we're at the age where we may be going to our best friends' weddings or celebrate the births of their children, all while attending funerals for their loved ones. is this the greatest sign of adulthood?![]() |

sib and i spent the weekend thinking about nature and earth day. obviously, we did that by thrifting and we scored big. here's a style my haul for the week:

you're so golden. new in the rotation: silk armani collezioni top styled with a vintage skirt i got from my mom, vintage gold sandal heels, gold leather crossbody, chanel necklace and sunnies

putter around new in rotation: tory burch striped polo top, banana republic midi skirt styled with guess watch, hair clip, loafers with horsebit detail, leopard print green tote bag.
finally, an afternoon gloomy walk was spent in nature in honor of arbor day. totally worth the fog, as i pulled out my yellow raincoat for the walk around holden arboretum.
this week's looks
utility was key this week. less fitting, firm materials like wool and denim dominated. i craved comfort as i was sick, and i needed to mold into the environments (from funeral homes to arboretums).
monday i wore a sweater boyfriend gave me from his closet cleanout, with a pair of l. l. bean lined jeans, red bomber and sneakers. h & m leopard print tote, jewelry and accessory stack.
tuesday was a struggle. feeling sick like a dog, i threw on whatever was basic and somewhat cozy to get me through the long workday. an old navy top (also from boyfriend's cleanout), skinny striped jeans, loafers and tote, with just the basic ring stack.

errands
i had the strength on wednesday to put more effort in my look, so i layered a studio ghibli tee, skinny jeans, and wrapped this red oversized shirt around my waist. converse, ralph lauren denim crossbody, leather bracelet and red chanel sunnies.
i even ran some errands and an evening walk, wore a black tank and grey biker shorts, added a navy jacket. same purse and sunnies, and havaianas flip flops
felt very cbk on thursday. such a recreation (not on purpose). ralph lauren silk blouse and a vintage liz claiborne skirt, my hair tied in a low ponytail with a bow (not pictured), bunch of jewelry, tortoise shell sunnies (a la cbk), ralph lauren houndstooth shoulder bag, horsebit slingback flats.

wake
changed into sensible all-black ensemble for the wake sib and i went to. ralph lauren houndstooth purse and my slingback flats that got compliments too. bestie vic had a great point, it's such a glum event, you might as well look fabulous to keep your mood up!

saturday's arbor day look: ralph lauren top, yoga pants and my walking shoes. yellow raincoat and a tote from cro, with sunglasses that stayed in my pocket for the day.

sunday was a busy day, running around everywhere. we went to church, then visited our aunt, finally in the evening we opened the festival season by indulging in greasy food at the maple festival. wore my newly thrifted uniqlo top, calvin klein mom jeans, a vintage wool blazer, loafer heels, tweed crossbody and a statement marilyn monroe necklace.
what am i looking forward to next week?
another mix is coming up, and i've got baseball games lined up too. the weather doesn't seem super promising this week but i am hoping for a sunny end.
