10-18-2026 MY WEEK: now in season
october is so beautiful. the contrast of grey skies and bright, vibrant leaves on trees makes the world interesting. haunted, spooky but not dead and dreadful.
coziness is settling in the household, check out these vanilla macarons with salted butter custard and strawberry jam filling sib whipped up in the kitchen!
we went to the local shopping mecca, that only happens once every two years: designer dress days organized by the jewish women of cleveland organization. the first time we stumbled upon this holy grail was two years ago around my birthday. the stars aligned and i ended up getting myself a birthday gift consistent of a tibi suit set, altuzarra skirt, a fur coat for each, kate spade purse.this year, i saved my puny $5 off coupon on the fridge and marked my calendar, knowing damn well $5 won't save me from dent my wallet will make. this was considered a birthday gift, from me to me. and as sib said, "to prosper means pruning your wallet occasionally". if you want to know the vibes of this event, think confessions of a shopaholic when rebecca bloomwood decided to sell all her clothes. the sale is set in what once may have been a store. you got racks everywhere and old ladies volunteering, often acting as personal shoppers. one stuck with sib and i, choosing dresses that, admittingly neither would wear, nor we would fit. i'm flattered she thought of us as sizes 2 or 4, but our hips are too voluptuous to fit in any dress of the size. we learned this year that the ladies will give you an occasional discount if you ask. i feel bad, i probably would've saved up if i had the balls to barter.
anyways, here's what we got at this year's sale in this style my haul:

this week's looks
denim was the deal. i felt very cool in my denim looks, i recently got new jeans at old navy that fit just right. my work bestie snagged some super cute jeans at a garage sale too, and i got lots of compliments on the look i wore with them.
the color choices and details are turning a bit spooky, from pops of orange to spooky skeletons.
a relaxed look for monday as i did a yoga and meditation class for my clients at work. 2000s tee, whowhatwear ribbed knit sweatpants, and a color-coordinated cardigan. gold hobo bag, friendship necklace, sporty gucci sunnies, and more green with adidas gazelles.
tuesday. new old nave loose fit jeans, promoted as "low-rise" but i'd say they can be considered mid-rise. knit sleeveless top for an unusually warm mid-october day, gold hobo and coach bracelet, loafer slides, and a black and gold geometric print scarf with a twist! styed as a belt.

wednesday at work i kinda went all out. a jean paul gaultier top dubbed as halloweenish, another pair of old navy jeans, kitten heels, and harper's bazaar tote, orange and gold hue bracelets and gucci sunnies.
went on a double date that evening and wore a true halloween sweatshirt, calvin klein sweatpants (all-you-can-eat was on the menu), ugg slippers, harper's bazaar tote and some spooky jewelry.
thursday for work i wore a jenny humphrey inspired look: vera wang distressed top and the new jeans from my work bestie, red poncho sib thought of as "vampy". doc marten boots first time this season, calvin klein purse and sunnies with silver jewelry.

what i wore to designer dress days, ft. all our finds. this look was styled by sib as i first wanted to go in something more comfortable, but sib is working on manifestation and law of attraction, so we needed to attract "fanciness". off shoulder wool blend sweater, old navy jeans (sib's), silky scarf as belt, sib's patchwork tote.
for fiancé's birthday at the casino, i wore my recent thrift find, this graphic print bodysuit, and paired with ralph lauren jeans, calvin klein slingback heels, gold hoops, gold purse, and black leather jacket.
sunday we went to see a family friend, so i dressed cozy with cool accessories: nyc hoodie, distressed baggy jeans, gazelles, ralph lauren straw purse, valentino sunnies.
what am i looking forward to this week?
more birthdays, more family friend moments! i'm getting used to cooler days and not knowing what to wear, but i'm ready! sweatshirts and cozy cardigans are in.
