this week, we're revisiting our american "princess" and some strongest and weakest fashion moments.
we're also eager to see our sporty future - with a run-down of ralph lauren's winter olympics outfits.
finally, i share with you diy projects that inspired me this week. hope you find inspiration too!
'cause we never go out of style?
my feed is already awakening a 2015/16 renaissance, and bestie nicole always gives me a good challenge to cover on the blog. she sent me this instagram post:
a pre-reputation taylor, during her 1989 renaissance, wearing - a harness. graphic tee of the song we couldn't escape - fight song. i found the original article from the cut - a quick style analysis. let me share it with you:yesterday, taylor swift and selena gomez went to lunch in west hollywood. for the occasion, swift deviated significantly from her typical uniform of polka-dotted a-line dresses, and wore a t-shirt that read “this is my fight song” — a nod to the cover she did with rachel platten on her tour for 1989 — a pair of green short-shorts, some booties, and a partially studded bag. perhaps in an effort to power accessorize, swift added a green harness on top, which, though seemingly providing no function whatsoever, gave her outfit a certain toughness.
in the recent years, taylor swift's fashion gave a certain kind of "nothing" but she does have signature looks determined by her "eras": cute girl curls for her girl-next-door "fearless" era, when she had that country vibe. there was twee and the beginning of the red lipstick during "red", then 1989 was still red lips, but edgier looks in general. reputation was bleach blonde and very dark lipstick. glitter and sparkle and everything pink for "lover", folklore and evermore were the definition of cottagecore. then we had the remasters of everything she's ever done, her eras tour and the recent showgirl flop (ok i liked two songs).

i'm far from swiftie, but of course she has been my spotify top artist at some point. i'm a die-hard "red" fan, and her evermore/folklore songs were my most recent top tier faves. when i was younger, i despised her for dating harry styles, but it was this era of hers that influenced me the most. her saccharine twee - cardigans and oxfords, scarves and skater skirts. the bangs and a subtle red lip. i wanted to dress like her. hell, i wanted to be her!it's now à la mode for high profile celebrities to have their personal stylist. and taylor's is joseph cassell falconer, and has apparently collaborated with her for over 10 years. perhaps it's my love for sentiment, perhaps we were oversaturated with taylor content in the recent years, but this ever-loving jewel's shine seems dimmed. let's look back to some of taylor's best, i'm talking pre-harness, pre-matty healy, pre-kanye. when her biggest controversies were harry styles and the kennedys.what's your favorite taylor era? * a side note back to the harness. what is the deal with garters and harnesses - as a society we're bouncing between two fashion extremes: tradwife and modesty culture, or pure fetishism? let us not forget the louis vuitton harness timothee chalamet wore at the 2019 golden globes.
"so, what were your team's inspiration this year?"
as minimally sport-interested i claim i am, i've spent many pages on the blog dedicated to sports. hence, i owe a segment to the 2026 winter olympics. i loved watching the winter olympics during winter break as a kid, as croatians had an iconic skiing duo - siblings ivica and janica kostelić - that made headlines regularly, whether during the olympics or just during slalom.
i used to imagine being an ice skater, then conveniently watch ice princess to really keep the daydream alive. i don't practice sports, i did ice skating once when i was kid, i never skiied in my life, but the hope lives on as one day (i am manifesting) bestie victoria will teach me. granted, my fave part is imagining the perfect outfit for an imaginary ski trip to gstaad.
never mind my daydream. i am here to talk about the usa team's gear, designed by ralph lauren - who has partnered with the american olympians and paraolympians for over 20 years, according to conde nast traveler. no one does patriotism like ralph lauren does. the american dream, simple, not loud, the "old money" american way. ralph lauren is the brand for a healthy lifestyle - it is meant to be worn and torn - whether for sailing, horseback riding, or now - skiing and snowboarding. the gear that our pride and joy will be wearing is also available to shoppers like you and me, so we too can feel just as athletic. here's some items i would be excited to don while sledding:

| team usa turtleneck sweater -$398 |
.jpeg) |
| team usa stretch jersey mockneck - $268 |
.jpeg) |
| his and her woolneck blend sweater - $368 |
 |
| opening ceremony wool pant - $798 |
.jpeg) |
| graphic puffer down jacket - $598 |
while these items sell out and stay on my wishlist, i'll be spending the afternoons reading about our athletes and cheer on.
That polo puffer go crazyyyyyy
