8-16-2026 MY WEEK: such a good sport!

i have never been an athlete. both parents are rarely sedentary beings. dad used to run marathons, mom was into gymnastics and aerobics during the fitness craze of the 80s (i still own her leotards!), and both of them, who are well over the age of 50, probably still reach over 10k steps daily.

sib and i were always decent runners, and i've been surprisingly okay at any sport i take up for a brief hobby, like volleyball (with a group of friends in the summertime) or softball (at a random ball cage we might stumble upon). yoga - my forte. sib, though, she's the active one, always pushing us to walk for hours, try a new sport, get new equipment.

now that i am in bridal mode, i also entered bridal bootcamp, which means i exercise daily, use weights to diminish any floppiness in my arms, and try and stay toned. august is national wellness month, and my work launched a challenge for any employee who would like to participate, using the step-up app. the employee with the highest steps by the end of month will win an e-gift card. i started slow, but through the chatter between colleagues, seeing familiar names on the leaderboard, a sense of competition sparked in me. here i am, getting almost 20k steps daily. i am not #1, we have people who by some miracle achieve 40k steps in a day. i do have a life beyond the treadmill! but i'm in the top 5, and i plan to stay there. if this wasn't enough, even the bike got a spin to work!

i also read anatomy for runners, but more about that in my faves. i never thought myself as athletic but between my love for zen-x aesthetic, always having a great playlist, and a sense of responsibility toward my body (27 isn't late to start thinking about that, right?), perhaps 2026 is the year i turn from a posh spice to sporty spice?

this week's looks

this week i unintentionally matched most colors to my nails, so think rainbows and floral:

work
walk

monday i wore a royal blue bateau neck ralph lauren top and my super flowy yoga pants, dubbed "mc hammer pants" by a client. some gold details in the shoe hardware, purse, and jewelry. my power went out that morning so getting ready was not fun.
for my afternoon walk, i wore my yoga top and same pants, swapped the loafers for sneakers.

tuesday i borrowed sib's dusty rose ralph lauren top, since it matched really well with this h&m skirt. i truly hate how this pink looks on me. metallic details with pops of blue for accessories.

wednesday i wore a simple black tee, my burnt orange bellbottoms and my bright paisley bandanna. tropical purse and my steve madden sandals.

thursday. bike to work. a simple cropped tee and my fave striped barrel jeans. backpack was necessary, we'll be seeing this work one sib got as an intern years ago. converse for comfort, and gucci sunnies for sport.

pool
walk

pool then walk. took a break by the water, read a bit and took a 5-minute nap. wore a cover up and my black bikini, beach bag and flip flops.
swapped the cover up for my champion yoga pants, and sneakers were activated.

friday work. i wore a silk floral blouse and corduroy pants, adidas gazelles and backpack for a comfortable bike ride to and from work.

saturday we celebrated a work friend's birthday by doing float the river and dinner after. i wore my black bikini, sib's sewn tote bag to carry all my necessities, flip flops and my water sandals, brown striped maxi dress and yellow bandana.

sunday was the feast of assumption and we went to the croatian picnic center for mass and lunch. i borrowed a white diagonally ribbed tank from sib, an abstract maxi skirt, tabis, cream oversized sunnies, gold hoops and some necklaces and rings, and a metal purse with gemstones that fiancé kept using as an incense burner during mass.

what am i looking forward to this week?

we're going to a wedding next weekend and i'm so excited to show you guys the fit sib helped me style!
