8-2-2026 MY WEEK: treading through the county

july came and went, and looking at my fit calendar, the month was spent in a productive way. part pool, part exercise, part fun. well balanced, i believe.

let's narrow the blog post down to this week. we did some yoga and at-home workouts, as well as picturesque dusk-time walks in parks. during the day, after work, we took long naps by the pool, only dipping in to cool down then swap on the opposite side, roasting in the sun (fret not, i keep the spf near at all times).

you could've found me at the lake county fair on saturday, where i had fried food galore, and enjoyed watching the crafts, as well as the pretty animals with the most beautiful patterns. nature is the best fashion designer.

this week's looks

you'll notice lots of leisurewear. i've been on the go lately, and sporty fits are a necessity in the afternoons. could i put more effort in styling? absolutely! but during the dog days of summer, i'm often grabbing the first casual top i find. and preferably, something cropped that probably got purchased sometime in 2020. disclaimer: the shein and other fast fashion items you may find are as sustainable as they get. trendy or not - i don't rid sib's impulse buys from the pandemic until they're unwearable.

monday work. a typical monday look. work tee, mom jeans, converse, and a tote. minimal effort for sure.

yoga
work

tuesday. for work a tropical jungle fit. leopard print blouse, black skirt and sandals, and a mini tropical purse. effort... for a rainy morning?
the afternoon was windy and cool, perfect for a hot yoga session that left us in savasana catching our breath. crop top and booty shorts, flip flops, and an adidas windbreaker i ditched after class.

wednesday work. a very slight jenny humphrey reference, satin blouse, black slacks, and doc fisherman loafer. giant sunnies as one it girl should always rock, and my metallic leather tote. corporate grunge, if you will.

for thursday, i went for blue hues and itty-bitty florals! a talbots knit skirt peppered with embroidered florals, diane von furstenburg powder blue knit top, navy bandana and valentino sunnies. 90s style platform oxfords, and pearly/metallic accessories.

extreme low-effort for an evening walk, in which i was dragging my feet. some shorts and crop top, sneakers and versace sunnies.

friday felt very 2000s. for work i wore an abstract green top, straight leg jeans, and birkenstocks to match the brown coach bag. bunch of jewelry, like a puka shell necklace, and gold cuff. oscar de la renta sunnies saving everyone from witnessing the end-of-week eyebags.

we had ice cream and gossiped friday evening, and i wore a comfy fit again - baggy sleeveless tee, stretchy shorts, flip flops and the coach bag again. therapy.

saturday at the lake county fair. debut on the signed naomi campbell for fiorucci x i-d top, and white jorts. a dangerous game to play... all white at the county fair? rest assure, no ice cream stains happened (surprisingly!). this all-white look was styled with a bunch of bracelets, coach bag and converse.

sunday church and thrift. accentuated shoulders and square neckline from h&m, plaid slacks, and salvatore ferragamo heels. later changed into flip flops for the thrift (comfort first!), and a straw clutch.

what am i looking forward to next week?

it's gonna be a busy august, with booked weekends. we've got a mix, and engagement parties galore! can't wait for these upcoming looks and events!
