back home this week, with another booked and busy weekend. sib had a huge project for work so her friday was all about networking, plus i dragged her to a fundraising gala for adults with disabilities in sports. we got lucky by winning some raffle prizes. needless to say, my makeup stash is set for the next 5 years.
saturday was record store day and boyfriend and i went to the record den. at first, i was almost impulsively grabbing records and cds, such as an iggy pop chanson record, or best of lenny kravitz. then i went to the second-hand record section, the prices were single digits, just how i like it. i found a donna summer - live and more 4 side record, and an american gigolo soundtrack. giorgio moroder created the soundtrack of my spring, clearly.
in the cd section i was almost greedily scouring the names, boyfriend helping me find a $1.49 madonna - bedtime stories cd and i found a janet jackson - velvet rope one. the bedtime stories cd was played on repeat as sib and i were getting ready to go out to the siniša vuco concert that evening at the croatian lodge.
i was blissfully unaware there was some boycott going on regarding this singer and his opinions on being either ethnically croatian or serbian. vuco is a household name, but definitely a "kafanski pjevač" as the balkans would describe him (literally translated as dive bar singer). great quality to get drunk, and vuco uses rock and roll as well as turbofolk which is tied to serbian roots as influences in his songs. apparently, some people were unhappy about this and some of his political commentary, but let's be real, we all know his classics, and we play them at every single event. politics aside, the concert was mediocre at best, the drinks were flowing and the crowd was awesome. many friends were there and we got dragged to the bar for some shots, and i kept laughing to sib that i felt my face turn red instantly from the alcohol. the band, our local sedma brzina, carried, as vuco needed numerous coke smoke breaks in the company of suspiciously young girls.

| my fave part? vuco's "assistant" wearing a cute floral dress and loubotin-style ballet heels that sib has been drooling over the past couple months. i wanted to ask whether they were the steve madden dupes. |
this week's looks
i used tibi's color wheel and examples on how to calculate my looks. could it help me define my style better? maybe. my average scores for this week were the following: top (4), bottom (2/4), shoe (1), bag (2)
below is the definition of this color wheel, followed by examples by amy smilovic, founder of tibi and the philosopher behind this color wheel.overall, i think i would struggle to be fully defined by one or two rings. i like to surprise my coworkers with a variety of looks and constant juxtaposition, and it truly depends on the weather on how far i'll experiment, but i know i do not shy away from bright colors, as evidenced by this week alone. starting off monday bold and bright for work. ralph lauren bateau top in royal blue (4), an abstract print maxi skirt (4), horsebit slingback flats (1), uniqlo navy bag (2), and an array of jewelry and accessories. (4+4+1+2)
hair appointment - hard rock cafe top (2), sweatpants (1), sneakers (1), vanity fair tote bag (2), accessories. (2+1+1+2)
tuesday's work look - stark contrast. eurythmics tee (2), cotton maxi skirt (4), platform loafers (1), tote bag (1), and bright accessories. (2+4+1+1)
tuesday's walk and groceries: tee shirt (1) and biker shorts (1), and a columbia button up top (3), sneakers (1), replica tote bag (2). (1+1+3+1+2)
wednesday work: (i got compared to michael jackson at work for this one) top (2), sparkly urban outfitter pants (2), loafers (1), replica tote bag (2), and a bunch of jewelry. (2+2+1+2)
thursday was corporate punk: top with gold hardware (1), plaid pants from new york and co (2), fisherman loafers (1), replica tote (2), jewelry stack.
friday work - used a reference from youth. borrowed sib's boho zara blouse (4), slacks sib got from shein in 2020 and she no longer wears them (4), ballet style converse (4), replica tote (2) and some jewelry.
friday's gala look. another top borrowed from sib's closet (4), floral skirt from the croatian h&m (4), gianni bini baby pink heels (4), kate spade purse (4), and my jewelry stack and sunnies.
i was called "very chic" at the record store on saturday, thanks to my outfit loosely based on the recent harper's bazaar read. red top with tie (4), plaid pants (2), baby pink purse with bronze hardware (4), white doc martens (2)
saturday's concert look. the beret was taken off in the hall due to me overheating within the first sip of alcohol. top, recently thrifted (1), mini plaid skirt (2), black tights, knee high boots (2), baby pink purse (4), and the usual jewelry stack.
sunday we stayed home for the most part, doing paint by number with boyfriend, sib gardening, and listening to records. but we did go get some ice cream and i wore a cotton black tee (1), leggings (1), my birkenstocks (3), green leopard print tote (4), and a jacket (2). (1+1+3+2+4)
what am i looking forward to next week?
sib is working on the garden, i had a dream about an antique store, so we both agreed next week will be for thrifting and garden stores.
