as spring creeps into our lives, it feels like hibernation is at its end. so many fun events this week: karaoke for the clients, escape room and celebrating a work friend's birthday, first mix at the museum this year, and a visit to the rock and roll hall of fame. i was inspired by women and their fashion throughout the week, a great way to honor international women's day.
at the mix this month, the theme was material girl featuring music by the ladies of the 80s. sib and i played a drinking game: take a shot when you see someone fully dressed as madonna. i had a last-minute wardrobe malfunction so i was not truly on theme. it's okay, my eyes were filled with wonder seeing some fantastic ensembles. i was obsessed with a woman dressed in a fishnet bodysuit, with a white slip dress on top, wearing a vintage military coat and cap with a patch saying, "make love not war", she added read ankle boots too. i had to come up to her to compliment it and the following day i had to smolder the desire to thrift a wwii jacket and cap. beside this lady, a girl wearing a black tight dress with makeup graphics was super simple and statement. i didn't take photos of people, fearing i'd come off weird.

saturday boyfriend was on a hunt for silver. we stopped a pawn shop (they were blasting lady gaga and charli xcx?!) and then my fave spot antiques and uniques. boyfriend was inquiring for someone buying off silver, while i was contemplating if i should copy the woman from the mix and purchase a wwii jacket and cap. sib and i agreed - realistically, where would i wear vintage military gear? the sailor hats are becoming trendy, but this is still pretty niche. and i don't have to copy a lady and her impeccable style. i opted out of it. instead, i found a very interesting tank top: a naomi campbell for fiorucci tank with collaboration with i-d magazine, and her signature?! might get it authenticated.saturday night work besties and i tried out an escape room for a work friend's birthday. we chose the most difficult one and failed miserably, but we laughed it off with drinks and free cake at a local bar.women's day was celebrated at the rock and roll hall of fame. found outfit inspiration and jammed to harry styles' new album.
this week's looks
expect references and familiar looks, with possible twists. i don't want my potential fits to stay 'potential'. anyways, i was leaning between two extremes graphics & catchphrases or blouses and black. i frequently reached for a trusty non-wrinkle blouse, then adding a touch of graphic patterns or diy elements. while i veered into lots of monochrome all black fits, i urged to add a pop of color - somewhere.
monday's all black look was described as a 'pretty funeral' at work. a throwback look from a halloween party in high school. the top is actually the same.

tuesday for work i chose a white blouse, added a tie brooch, skinny pants, and that pop of color in the hat, shoes and jacket.
had to run errands in the evening so i kept the blouse and shoes but added a brown cardigan and wide leg jeans for a relaxed look. a colorful purse to add to the mix.
wednesday i wore a tube top on top of a cropped newspaper print mesh top. leather jeans (i wear them twice this week, stay tuned), moto boots and fuzzy coat.
who says you can't mix the graphics and the blouse? for karaoke i wore a black button up with those jeans i upcycled. i added a punk tote and red jacket with converse.
supergraphic thursday. a shirt and desigual graphic skirt. paisley print bandana and vlajternativa punk tote.
minimalism for work on friday. armani jeans, vince camuto sweater, steve madden sunnies, brushed suede boots and coach bag
back to graphics for the mix: i wore an off-shoulder graphic dress and pink kitten heel mules, ton of jewelry and red chanel sunnies.
this references nothing in the 80s but i feel like being a woman that enjoys material things (aka being me) is good enough. graphics for the materialism and pink for barbie.
saturday sib and i went for a walk, then boyfriend picked me up to go thrifting and lunch. i wore a bratz tee and leggings, my new fave walking shoes, coach bag, and blue sunnies (unused because it rained all day)
another all-black ensemble saturday night. black sweater, diane von furstenburg pants, converse and faux fur vest.
a bit ironic i reference eleanor calder (infamous 1d girlfriend) to go watch the harry styles concert at the rock and roll hall of fame. wore the leather pants again, leather crossbody, ray ban aviators (it's been a while), almost reckless tee from tibi, pumas.
what am i looking forward to this week?
i fear we're getting shit weather again, but i'm hoping i'll have fun fits again.
