11-16-2025 MY WEEK: my party mix

27 years around the sun - and here i am blogging like it's 2010! this week was whirlwind of jetlag and getting adjusted to work but also planning my birthday party. having a birthday in the middle of november - in ohio - means no fun. but my goal was, instead of fussing over finding the cheapest restaurant, ubers and long drives, attempting to make reservations and having to go out in our fits through the gloomiest weather and always possibility of snow, i decided to revive the house party. this inspiration came to me after many years of wanting to avoid my birthday because of the stress of planning and depression due to weather - and also because i watched party girl months ago and realized - we need to resuscitate the act of house parties! i love hosting. i love getting drunk and dressing up - doing it all at home is the best combo.

all week i spent finding cheap but funky party decor, scheming finger food recipes and cocktail combos for my guests. and finally, going thru the closet and archives for the perfect birthday suit...  the cocktails of the week were salted caramel martini mixed by my work bestie at my birthday party, and the naughty (prosecco, vodka, passionfruit liqueur, strawberry) cocktail from morton's the steakhouse where boyfriend and i had my birthday dinner.

i also spent an evening doing my nails, because after croatia, i itched to do so. having only a bit of time restricted me from doing crazy designs, so i went with an all-chrome look.

this week's looks

i already miss my croset. this week's weather forced me to layer up and bundle up, so i tried accessorizing to make sure my sweatshirts and coats had more dimension.

monday for work i wore a black turtle neck bodysuit, vintage faded glory mom jeans, (not pictured) doc martens boots, a brown puffer jacket, some necklaces (including a long marilyn monroe one), "no thanks" beanie, and (not pictured) gold hobo bag from cro

tuesday for work similar layers. a vintage black sweatshirt and plaid pants, moto boots, same beanie, jacket and bag. also, some vintage leather gloves sib brought back from our mom's closet. layered, but chic.

wednesday i wore a suit set from our mom, white blouse, patterned scarf, gold hobo bag, and white platform docs. i really liked how the subtle gold details (earrings, scarf, doc martens stitch, and bag) add on to the whole outfit that was pretty much greyscale.

thursday for work i wore my strand bookstore sweatshirt with a pinstripe skirt, metallic tights, and moto jacket and knee high steve madden boots. golden hobo bag and knit scarf with oversized fendi sunnies.
for pre-birthday dinner i wore a levi's sweatshirt, skinny black pants and moto boots, staple jewelry, and oversized jacket.

friday for work i wore a camel colored top and a pinstripe suit set, with staple jewelry, fendi sunnies, doc martens fisherman loafers and trench from h&m. went back to the longchamp purse.
for my birthday dinner at morton's, i actually didn't know where we were going since it initially was a surprise. i was only told "dress fancy". you can't see in this photo, i wore a ralph lauren red and black color block turtleneck sweater and leather maxi skirt (the one i recently purchased in the croatian boutique), my gucci cherry heels (they always come out for special occasions), kate spade bright red purse, h&m trench coat.
for my birthday house party i initially had a completely different fit planned but i suffered waldrobe malfunctions, and resorted to my recently sourced vintage cashmere sweater, and a wool mini skirt. and leather boots (these i wore just for the photo...)

sunday we just walked around the mall and window shopped (too cold for a walk around the neighborhood), and i wore these new sneakers boyfriend bought me for my birthday. they're super comfy, and i felt taller and lighter. time to retire the skechers...
i wore a sweatshirt, leggings, beanie, and columbia jacket, with some jewelry, gold hobo bag and sunnies.

what am i looking forward to this week?

this week i have lots of work to focus on, but sib and i are slowly planning and prepping for our annual bestie friendsgiving soon. the hosting season is officially here. to break up the work boredom, i might delve into a new style challenge, tackling outfits appropriate for fall/winter that i only got to style on indyx. let's see how they look in real life...
