8-3-2025 MY WEEK: my week in vermont

this past week flew by leaving behind incredible memories. i worked for a day, then drove vic² and sib to see kesha live. i was the designated driver, and i could not afford having a nasty hangover for my flight to albany, then another hour drive to boyfriend's cabin in vermont. nevertheless, the remainings dressed to define cunt - and we glitterized, makeupmaxxed and said, fuck it, when we heard thunder while still at home pregaming. we drove 40 minutes to blossom and got stuck in traffic that estimated our arrival for the venue two hours later. but we agreed, the most kesha thing to do would be to party in the rain on a monday night. it was hot, sticky, humid, sweaty, sleazy. my hair was drenched from dancing, and our throats were sore from screaming. i think we spent more time lingering in the god awful parking than actually listening to kesha.

i chose the grey top and mini skirt instead of white top and piano skirt
(per last week's entry)
the following morning, sib and i got ready and i was off to a couple short connecting flights and landed in albany. a smooth drive through the upstate countryside, and i was enchanted by the old victorian houses with decorated porches, old silos and barns on the brink of desolation, sheep, cows, and hills. i didn't even realize how flat ohio is until i saw the rolling hills entering vermont.
day 1 consisted of settling into the cabin on lake st catherine, and boyfriend taking me out for a boat ride. it was a hot 90° day so i happily swam in the lake as well. once the lake activities were done, we hung out by the fire, and then played card games until late into the night.

day 2 was an all-day lake day. brought my midnight sun to finish the final chapters while overlooking the beautiful lake, but i often needed cool down in form of boat ride, synchronized swimming competitions, and jet skiing. a quick fit change and in the early evening, before sunset, we went to the tiny center of the town wells and checked out their annual carnival. like any midwestern carnival, it consisted of fried foods, dinky rides, and many games to spend your change. the ones in ohio are much flashier, bigger, and louder. here, most local people participated. you can tell everyone knew everyone. the small school was selling pies as a fundraiser, as well as a trap team trying to form, and their promotion. at this point of the trip, my phone's camera miraculously gave out and i was barely able to take photos of things around me. this got my mood pretty bitter, but i figured it could be a great opportunity to stop from looking through the lense. there's something charming about these forgotten towns and people, their hard work and off-the-grid life, farther from the cities for my personal comfort. boyfriend shared that lots of this reminds him of his first-time visit to croatia, and i completely understand. some villages where i grew up nearby have the same exact vibe. the end of the night was again, spent by countless rounds of uno, wine cups getting refilled, and lots of loud laughs.

day 3: temperatures drop, and i'm scrambling. my only long sleeve shirt - a linen kind of white blouse was supposedly drying overnight, until the rain fell. plus - we're supposed to be hiking today?! the haystack hill is simply a hill -  but it kicked ass. i wore a giant rainjacket boyfriend found for me, and we all agreed hiking in cooler weather feels better than these recent super hot days. the hill had us wheezing halfway through, but we got to the top, and observed an otherwordly view, with mist rising from cooled down trees, more hills rolling from each side, and we allegedly got a view of three states: new york, vermont, and new hampshire. boyfriend almost tumbled once, and i was then ready to hike back down. my hair was ratty and matted, my long pants almost ruined from the mud, but my spirit still high from the wonderful view up high, and catching bright red salamander-like lizards, and water dripping onto monstrous slate rocks.
the rest of the night was cool and i watched the lovely sunset bring out the most vibrant orange sky and a hidden rainbow. i finished midnight sun, and continued the evening in the same fashion as most - game night, wine, bonfires and smores.
our trail to the top of haystack hill

day 4: the house was still so cold when i woke up, i almost didn't believe we were going to be able to spend the day in the lake again. boyfriend made a great breakfast and coffee for me to enjoy on the deck with the spectacular view. in the sun, i began to warm up, and i had no issue indulging in one last day of ultimate relaxation. we shortly switched from coffee to day drinking blended fruit daiquiris, i began reading my next book, and went tubing. only once, because my arm muscles got incredibly sore 10 minutes after. boyfriend and i eventually grabbed the largest pizza ever for the whole family while his dad fried fish freshly caught from the lake. the quaint town of granville was 15 minutes away from our stay, back in new york. there were so many antique stores and consignment shops, i was aching for some shopping, but my time was too short for this, and the house was crowded with lots of different people with different plans.
day 5, we got our last couple hours of breakfast and tanning by the lake, before treading back to albany, where boyfriend dropped off his sister and her friend to the amtrak station, then lunch at a mexican restaurant with a patio, and finally drop off to the airport, where his mom and i got to reminisce our vacation, and take short naps on these short flights back.

i managed to have my phone fixed, luckily it was covered too, because i was about to resort to the canon camera and revert to flip phone.
cocktails of the week consisted of many a thing. i mixed up simple spicy mango margaritas for the girls while pregaming for kesha. in vermont i drank "clawtails" - white claw cocktails. nothing special, but it was fine in the middle of nowhere. boyfriend blended us fresh fruit daiquiris that were phenomenal. boyfriend bought us noca breeze drinks to try. they're supposed to be like tropical juice with 8% alcohol and smell like pina coladas, but there's a bizarre chemical taste to them. boyfriend notes: "smells great and definitely strong but taste is a 4/10". sunday afternoon for lunch sib and i had margaritas at the restaurant agave and rye (southern meets mexican) - sib ahd an agave epic rita on the rocks (with a shot of some kind of whiskey?), and i had the little red corvette, frozen - tequila, grand marnier, fresh lime juice, sugar water, orange juice, strawberry syrup swirl and edible flower. these drinks got us the perfect day drunk.

this week's looks

lots of repetition to be seen this week, as i packed minimalistic and very simple, and more for comfort (and making sure i am dressed somewhat decently in front of boyfriend's grandma). i'm having packing hiccups lately, and am working on devising a perfect packing recipe, for you guys in this week's inspo segment.
fear not, i also begin another dress up challenge - using the app merazine's daily "tarot cards" that gives you an avatar and i'll be recreating those looks.

monday for work i wore a bratz oversized tee, pink pants, and steve madden sandals. oversized sunglasses to add onto the y2k look.
for the kesha concert i wore that grey gym tee i've been obsessed over, in combination with the bralette i purchased a while back. sib's miniskirt, fishnet tights, charlotte russe combat boots, and not pictured here was a ton of random jewelry and john lennon sunnies.

tuesday
for my flight i wore my diy'ed tank, new striped jeans i got at a boutique in ashtabula last week, and my white cotton blouse. sneakers, sib's tote bag, and my accessories.
in the evening, after lakeside activities, i wore my rolling stones baby tee and yellow urban outfitter pants with cord.

wednesday for lakeside fun, i wore a grey tube top and khaki shorts until the rest of the day - i was just in my bikini.
for the carnival i wore a black maxi dress, my ralph lauren shoulder bag, and birkenstocks. for game night, back with the rolling stone tee and some pajama shorts.

thursday for hiking the hill, i wore flowy grey pants, my tattoo tee, and boyfriend's rain jacket. added my ralph lauren purse (to store my water bottle) and tie dye baseball cap. i was wearing shorts later in the afternoon while playing cards and reading, but i swapped into my maxi skirt while making s'mores.

friday for breakfast i wore a black tee and my striped jeans, thinking it was cold as fuck still. swapped later into bikini and thrifted denim gap dress.

saturday i recycled my friday brekkie fit for the way home. didn't even need to wear the white blouse.

sunday we woke up early enough to go to church, and get brunch in the plaza where our local apple store was at. i wore my mom's old maxi beach dress, zara sandals, cream headband and black crossbody - to recreate the first challenge of the outfit tarot. how well am i going to follow next week? it's all in the cards. a feature of sib wearing a daisy jumpsuit.

sunday night i wore a zara crop top and navy sweats with skechers (not pictured) for my evening walk.

what am i looking forward to next week

readjusting to normalcy after an off-the-grid week, getting back to work - it's currently my nightmare. i am kind of craving to travel more, and i'll see if sib would like to take a roadtrip with me. my plans are to hit the pool, do some yoga classes (in need of serious stretching after hiking and tubing - a total body workout), and go to my next salsa dance class!
