6-1-2025 MY INSPO: libraries are sexy!

being stuck without a laptop that actually works, i finally decided to be resourceful and not wasteful with spending money. delayed gratification, i thought, something you don't see in this uber fast era. i did brainstorming and research, what is the best idea for blogging without spending money, is there a great laptop out there that won't feel like another car payment? then i remembered the beautiful building only a short drive from my home. the library. and i remembered, they have internet and computers. why not?

i always preach about being more frugal, and often resorting to the ancient ways like my digital camera and such. i love the library, why not use the resources offered?

so here i am, working on my powerpoint presentation for friday night, and also editing my blog entries for the past and this week. sib is somewhere reading a mount everest book, and i feel happier than ever. when i was in middle and high school, i was truly one of those girls who would spend her day in the library in a corner reading a book. yes, i was that insufferable. i would spend at least once a week finishing up books and reading them then just simply walking back home.

in croatia, our local library did monthly local art exhibits for free as well as small theatrical plays and musical events. in the past 2 years i began dedicating more time to my local library here, because i was craving the atmosphere.

with my library often rent movies for free on apps like hoopla and kanopy and borrow e-books and audiobooks on libby. when i used to own my beater car, the power thing didn't work so i couldn't use my phone to listen to music. i used to thrift cd's but then i'd get bored of listening to the same stuff. then it hit me - i can rent cd's then i won't get bored, and i don't have to spend money on them!

i still struggle with book stores, but i boycott online buying books or at target and even barnes and noble. my weakness are library book sales and thrifting books. but i try so hard just to borrow them.

there's so many more resources like borrowing passes for museums and zoo's that are available (rip my bank account for the museum of at membership).

with the government threatening to defund helpful resources, including our libraries, i think it's more crucial than ever to finally say no to overspending and to dedicate more of our life to these important helpful places. i know i'll make sure to do my part even more.

maybe i simply won't buy a laptop.
