4-27-2025 MY WEEK: international eating, constructive criticism, and art events around
i come to you with another recap of my week, and a list of my fits. i've got boxes of leftovers this week - i was very international with my food and dinner choices. i made a korean bbq bowl with rice, then went to get mexican at a local restaurant, following day enjoyed an all-american cleveland wrap and a long island, then enjoyed mediterranean mezze, belgian waffles, and a chinese buffet.
one day boyfriend brought a huge pile of clothes he wanted to try on and "model" for me, which i thoroughly enjoyed, but now this pile is still in my room.
bestie victoria and i went to the museum of art on saturday. she wanted to try out her newest gadget, a vintage camera with black and white film. i was interested in the fine print fair happening this weekend. after tinkering with the camera for a few minutes, we were ready for this adventure. i genuinely thought i could find some affordable prints for the house, but i was brought back to reality once i saw the 4 digit prices on some of this work. woah, i forgot art is actually expensive. okay, let's walk around, i'll grab some bookmarks and free pens. i'm chill with that. what really sealed the deal was a curator attempting, real hard, to make a connection with us visitors. his statement "my next project is to buy a house that is art, and to live in it, forever..." was so bizarre, and his quasi-casual name-dropping of working for marina abramović motivated us to move on from lingering at this particular station.
we got some pics at the museum, wandered and appreciated the arts, and drove to zhug, a mediterranean restaurant nearby that serves various mezze. our conversations, the food, and atmosphere, was a good "almost forgot this was the whole point" moment. if we had microphones in that moment, we would've made a podcast episode any and all anthony bourdain enthusiasts would've loved.
this week ended on a not-so-relaxing sculpt yoga session by bestie victoria, and she truly kicked our butts this morning. all calories that i lost were regained and doubled afterwards because boyfriend and i got an early lunch at the local chinese buffet. don't judge.
here i am revising and wrapping up these entries, after a multitude of facetime calls to sib as she is still "exiled" into the homeland for another week.
this week's looks
i experimented with shapes, materials and styles at work a lot this week. many of these looks were criticized heavily from the individuals i work with, but that's what makes the job fun. they're my most honest critics and i value that.
tuesday i wore a talbots button down shirt, and rebecca minkoff sample sale jeans gifted by beki minky's best employee, bestie nicole.

wednesday afternoon i had my lash and brow appointment and i had to dress for maximum comfort. striped t shirt sib got from shein (during ehr fast fashion days), sweatpants from sam's club, and these new york and company sneakers that are finally tearing at the sole. will be gardening shoes only for the rest of this season. 🠆

thursday was a maxi skirt kind of day. for work i wore a ralph lauren royal blue top with a vintage wool maxi skirt, while for a double date dinner i swapped from restrictive to relaxed, vlajternativa festival t shirt and a cotton stretchy one purchased last year in cro.
friday i wore this maximalist button down my coworker gave me. i tried wearing it in a french tuck, but my clients are my toughest critics. one client demanded i untuck it. so that's what i did. i swapped my longchamp for a smaller ralph lauren houndstooth shoulder bag as we went next door for happy hour cheap long islands and food to celebrate another coworker's birthday earlier this month. i couldn't finish my third long island.
for the minecraft movie, i kept the hard rock tee on, switched back to the skechers and sweatpants, and added a marlboro hoodie on top. trashy enough? maybe, but this look guarantees comfort while watching a dumb ass movie.
sunday for yoga, i wore my blue yoga top and a blue sweatshirt, and the same sweatpants again. what can i say, they're comfy and have deep pockets. for yoga i wore my birkenstock slides (welcome back!) and then for lunch i wore the skechers.
art of this week
last week's blog entry about cybersigilism inspired me to make matchy tops with that design for sib and me. this was initially a plain white top from forever 21. the design was added by me.
i found a malcolm x centennial call for art and got into that groove too, this week. it's a collage on canvas with prominent black artists, themes, art, and a malcolm x quote on top of all.

what am i looking forward to next week?
on tuesday i am submitting my work for the local unveiled exhibit, and i'm going with this watercolor painting:
this coming friday is a new month, and there is a new mix event at the museum again. i'm excited to experiment with some new outfit ideas. it's theme is honoring aapi month. i thrifted a christian dior qipao months ago at an antique mall. i love it but am terrified of culturally appropriating. this would be a great outfit choice but i am a while southern european woman. much to think about...
in other news, i am picking up sib from the airport this saturday and am looking forward to the goodies she's bringing back! okay, and her presence too.
until next week... xoxo
thank you for looking forward to my presence.
