PeSuit and Tie

  last week my hometown had the annual vlajternativa  open air rock festival. if you're not familiar with it, here's; some photos of true punk energy, hidden in the small gem of my home town benkovac .  during my high school years i enjoyed attending various rock concerts through the town, organized by my old teacher and her brother, dunja  and ante gusić . this year my trip didn't align with the festival, but my facebook was full of reports that further twisted the knife of fomo in my gut. the fjaka of last week finally subsided, and i went back to yoga, salsa dancing, and even a free local concert (a def leppard tribute band). saturday i did some drunk tubing down cuyahoga river (possibly the best way to get daydrunk), and i even went to our local feast of assumption picnic. i'm catching the last waves of summer, because it could all go away real fast. st anthony's shrine margarita-drunk selfie woodstock? think again this week's looks lots of patterns like glitter, abstracts, and optical illusions followed particularly at work. otherwise, i kept it sporty and utilitarian. shout out to sib's closet! came in clutch! and peep the new shoes i'm not taking off toward the end of the week. they will be worn out. monday  for work i wore a v neck grey top and sparkly urban outfitters disco pants, styled with brown sunglasses, diamond studs, work tote, and doc martens loafers. my coworker told me i was glistening  in the sun. for yoga  i wore a royal blue crop...

books of the week this week i finished up the year of magical thinking. i often tell my clients, "there's no handbook to handle grief". it's so personal and intimate. but when you read about it, it feels collective and familiar.  i read some vanity fair  from 2023 boyfriend found at home and gave. then i began the iconic croatian series grička vještica , (the witch from grič) - book one is called tajna krvavog mosta  (the secret of the bloody bridge). this series is the most famous one by the first female journalist of croatia, marija jurić zagorka . it has elements of mystery, mythology, and history.    movies of the week sib and i watched   he's just not that into you , and it kind of set up the week's mood in a very "men ain't shit" kind of way. apologies to boyfriend ahead of time, but this mood will stay until he buys me sushi. music of the week five recent saves on my playlist: baby, i love your way - big mountain slow down - skip marley, h...

  it was a hot and lazy week upon my return back to normal routine, post vacation. i was utterly unmotivated, skipping yoga, dance classes, and just focusing on work. sib made phenomenal desserts, and dinner was held on our patio, with a citronella candle and some good trader joe's wine. boyfriend returned from vermont and brought goodies from his garden (some may or may not have been stolen).  boyfriend's harvest sib's upside down peach cake sib and i ventured eastward to check out the beachy scene at geneva on the lake  saturday night. we were in search of tropical cocktails, possibly at a sit down bar. something more chill just for cute photos and kiki'ing. the only bar of the sorts was cash only, and we had none. these damn gen z-ers. there were tons of concerts going on, literally almost at each bar. and we settled on a bar called yankies . they had a dj, and the crowd reminded me of croatian beach bars. the urge i had to get obliterated hit even harder when i trie...
