10-11-2026 MY FAVES: the september culture meter

 september culture meter

here's this month's pivotal pop culture moments i consumed. martha had the best impact, and while christiane f was on the bottom, it's such a heartbreaking story, with an awesome soundtrack. i really loved and hated the movie at the same time. lova adria was a hard watch i only follow the memes now. the vampire diaries scored high again, with memes of stefan salvatore all over my feed.

what i'm watching...

fiancé begged we rent ghost rider featuring nicholas cage. what possessed him to have such swag for such a shitty movie?! im obsessed with his weirdness, it made the movie so much more enjoyable.
continuing to watch the vampire diaries season 2, with the mikaelson clan joining in, and news flash! tyler and caroline finally hooked up, yay? klaus finally graced us with his presence.

what i'm reading...

finishing up my vogue adria september issue i started off while traveling back from croatia. i love getting book recommendations from balkan writers, i'm always on a hunt for authentic stories of the motherland, in our mother tongue.

the third goodreads giveaway book i have ever received is one i just started reading, called lust, by erika lust, who is, well, an adult performer. this book explores censorship, pornography, and female sexuality through her own experiences in the field. listen, if i get something for free i will read it. secondly, i don't believe in censorship, and i like to read something that may provoke my opinions. how does one grow otherwise? considering we just ended banned books week, i think it's really symbolic to explore topics that are taboo during this time.

what i'm listening to...

here's top 5 songs to start off the month of october:
dices no - saša kovačević
a latino twist on a balkan hit.
somebody - natalie la rose, jeremih
a 2015 classic, reminds me of editing all my instagram pictures with thick white borders and absolutely devoid of color
samo se ti smiji - m.o.r.t.
the lyrics are bizarre, the meaning, maybe there? one of my fave songs from high school
alone - celine dion
you literally can't go wrong with celine, especially if it's a cover of a rock classic! this is going on the karaoke playlist.
inevitabile - eros ramazzotti, giorgia
an italian jam. seems like every fall i find myself in an italian time of my life.
