7-12-2026 MY WEEK: consulting the oracles
after a humiliating and unsuccessful trip to the mall in search for an ideal bra, one would assume that attempting a new makeup look might just give me another blow to my already shaken confidence. this was actually not the case, and i found a look i plan to perfect (possibly by the time i walk down the aisle?). below is a makeup tutorial i found on tiktok, and it was truly effortless.

| final result - not sure if pic does justice? still super satisfied with first attempt |
since our return from cro, sib and i have been mindful at the thrift. our goal was to get a cute patio lounge set (couch or chair set with coffee table), alongside our current regular table and chairs. in our search we ended up snagging a beautiful english tea time looking wicker set in white, a total of 5 items in the set for $170. unbelievably good condition, price is wonderful in comparison to at home's $2,000, or walmart's $500 slinky chairs. we resisted, for the most part, temptation to look for stuff we didn't need, but i did snag a pair of ferragamo slingback heels and a ralph lauren purse, styled below:
this week's looks
i consulted with my fashion oracle cards. it may be roughly a year since my initial attempt in creating outfits based on the daily oracles, but i feel like i didn't do it justice. this time around, i went for more direct visual references. i personally have a love-hate relationship with references in fashion. sometimes they're great homages and they truly help with creating a good style formula, especially if you need to style things in a new light. i think i hate absolute direct references that veer more toward halloween costumes. this week you'll see various style icons and how i used them as style inspo.

monday. i couldn't start off the style challenge of the week because i was so disheveled going back to work after a long holiday weekend. so just a regular work tee and vintage jeans did it. some accessories for the zhuzh.
making monday just a bit more miserable, i attempted bra shopping at the mall. you need a quick ego death? give yourself 2 hours questioning your bra size, body, and womanhood. j crew top and shorts, birkenstocks and low self-esteem. doing my makeup helped.
'why not?' - not 'what if?'
a woman must always look like a lady.
who says you can't become a princess?
a casual grace kelly look is perfect for a day at work. i won't comment on the fact that this linen blouse got stained by the time i sat in the office. vintage faded glory jeans, and a black tie instead of white.
for an evening walk i wore a bralette and gym top, biker shorts, walking shoes, gucci sporty sunnies.
"imagine there's a wind machine..."
"be a big tease"
"find excitement in the unexpected".
for work i took inspiration from sam mcknight's hair for dries van noten ss2019 ready-to-wear. i tied my hair in a low bun and instead of feather, i used a colorful ribbon. tibi suit set, valentino sunnies, patchwork tote made by sib, coach bracelet and slingback flats. i revert to these a lot this week.

wednesday - elsa schiaparelli
"be outrageous, be shocking, be a work of art."
"dress to make others envious".
"true beauty never goes out of fashion and is always original".
i took inspo from schiaparelli ss2026 rtw. studded top and a cream skirt. mine was maxi, instead of the model's midi. a would've loved to break in the ferragamo heels i just thrifted, but for work the slingbacks were my go-to.
we went thrifting after work so i kept the top, chose zara jeans and tabis with gucci sunnies.
"if in doubt, add elephants."
"dress for your color girl moment".
"capture life on camera, but be sure to live it too".
a very loose reference to a versace campaign richard avedon shot in the 90s, with amber valetta as model. i have very little yellow items so instead of a yellow belt, i chose the bottom stripes on this top. naturally, heels are a no-go at work so i bounce back on my go-tos for the week.
we went to the farmer's market so i changed in baggy jorts and swapped the sunnies for a more relaxed look.
"tweed and twinsets support women's rights"
"elegance and perfume are life's only essentials".
"fashion isn't what you wear - it's who you should be".
the reference is chanel ss1994. i was initially going to do a tweed skirt, but the heat required a breathable material. i wore my striped tee with a tennis skirt. black bucket hat, chanel necklace and sunnies, and i tied a chanel silk scarf on the handle of sib's tote.
"keep it simple, stupid"
"everyone looks great in black and white".
"focus on what you love. i love women and they love fashion".
the reference for this oracle card is a bert stern photography of bailey shooting model veruschka in 1965. my dress is not as fitted as the reference - i chose the dress i got at a boutique and swapped its original black belt for something less contrasting. most of bailey's photography is in black and white, so i guessed colors here. i wore ralph lauren snakeskin heels to add to the color scheme, alongside giant jewelry, sunnies and beachy knit purse.
what am i looking forward to this week?
more pool days, monday's last oracle card fit, and pure summer relaxation. perhaps we'll try and do some local events too!
