5-31-2026 MY FAVES: sweet tooth

 what i'm watching...

nothing cures hump day better than a couple episodes of the nanny and an espresso creme martini. a midweek treat!

what i'm listening to...

check out my newest playlist, called parisian shabby chic. i was listening to leighton meester's hit heartstrings which gave me the initial inspo. this playlist is saccharine and feminine. something like a french twee vibe. think macaron towers and knee socks, lace and frills, messy hair and makeup. clumsy and dainty.

the following runway show is a visual representation. feel free, like me, to mute john galliano's choice of runway music and swap it with my playlist, indulge in my sweet treat to you:
to round up the month, here's top 10 songs saved in may:
cool cat - juliette armanet
la paloma - santec music orchestra
captain drag - sebastien bouchet
aguas de marco (joga bossa) - smoke city
under the gun - supreme beings of leisure
if i were a boy (maurice joshua mojo uk remix) - beyonce
vogue (live from fashion rocks) - rihanna
end of an era - niall horan
ss26 - charli xcx
we are the ones - the coup

what i'm reading...

keeping up with the new yorker magazine. read an interesting article on the history of robot writers. artificial writing has been with us for some time now. yet, i can't help but to feel a bit uneasy with the illiteracy crisis we're going through.

started a new book: the magic years - scenes from a rock and roll life. authored by cleveland native, jonathan taplin, the book explores the shift from folk to rock in the 60s, and how that shift was impacted by tumultuous political times, similar to what we may be experiencing now, taplin notes. the book was published in 2021, and in just 5 years i can tell the cultural and political climate feels more nihilistic than ever. yet for someone experiencing jfk's assassination, civil rights movement firsthand, and the culture shift and discovery of musical greats, i'm hoping taplin can share the wisdom of the past to enlighten the future for the youth of 'now'.
