oh, the reds and pinks, the heart shaped everything, the velvet and lace... chocolate, cherries, and strawberries, lingerie and aphrodisiac perfumes... that's all around my mind this week. valentine's day is such a cute holiday. second fave if you ask me (halloween is my fave. i like both since candy is quintessential).
i put my rose-colored glasses on and went to trader joe's with sib to stock up on florals for the home. my wardrobe consisted of shades of pink and red (more about that below). my work week was marked by valentine's crafts and parties with conversation hearts on cupcakes and in refresher drinks.
sib got creative and upcycled a blouse to match the signature look of vivienne westwood. i'm totally stealing this top in the spring, here's how i'd style it:
the v-day weekend was absolute peak tho. boyfriend took me out to a steakhouse dinner where we devoured with pink drinks.
saturday was officially our galentine's day where sib and i went ballistic and caught the best consignment store sales. we went to it's so you with select items at 70% off, elite repeats with everything 50% off, and discovered the tiny but worthy clothing cottage that had a $1 rack and select sales.between the three locations, sib and i managed to purchase a whole outfit. let's style my haul! here's a breakdown of what i got:

after our successful shopping spree, sib and i managed to take a brisk walk around the neighborhood (can you believe we can see some grass?!).we went to the v-day dance at the croatian lodge, and enjoyed cranberry vodkas, and hoping for more than just slow dance songs for couples. what did we expect? it was sweet checking out the heritage museum for a bit and taking cute fit photos.
my lovely friend natalija suggested we check out the vintage valentine's day market downtown this weekend. big shoutout! almost spent too much because i was tempted to snag a $1000 white fur coat and split the cost with sib, and i saw the manolo's natalija mentioned, unfortunately too big in size. we enjoyed an iced vanilla latte and strawberry matcha prepared by the house of sips. then stopped at the west side market to make a day out of it - since it was so nice out - got lunch at boaz (lebanese chipotle style dining) and wrapped up with mitchell's ice cream.still, i got another crisp white blouse (it's a fixation), and a seashell necklace, styled below:
this week's looks
the theme is valentine's day - all week. i wore variations of red and pink all week long. and literally wore my rose color shades one day. cupid struck me, and my fits made it known.
monday i wore a skirt with shades of red and pale pink, heart details on the docs, piercing red beret, ombre red tights, and dusty rose uniqlo bag.
felt like a zillennial jackie o on tuesday with the bandana and oversized fendi shades. sib comments, "would jackie o really wear camo?" and my coworkers raised their eyebrows on the "babushka" (their words, not mine). paired a cozy oscar de la renta top with calvin klein pale pink denim skirt. the docs again - fitting for the week, we'll see more of it. bath and body magenta felt tote. frida kahlo earrings
wednesday: borrowed sib's pink turtleneck and paired it with a hot pink beanie and a summer-appropriate purse with shades of sunset pink. coral pumas too.
dinner with boyfriend wednesday night: purple jewelry, baby pink + blue argyle cardigan and my pumas.

early v-day celebration with boyfriend and steakhouse dinner. wore a velvet mini dress originally from forever 21, hear shaped gem earrings, forever 21 coat, leather purse, gucci kitten heels with the cherry on top.
saw the world in a shade of pink on saturday. sib and my galentine's day. fit inspired by libby mae (loosely). periwinkle bunny sweatshirt (better for easter, i know), cream pants, red leather jacket. pink purse, heart shaped sunnies, ugg slippers for comfort.
quick change into a causal fit for an afternoon walk. columbia jacket, walking shoes, micro sunnies, leggings.
saturday night's v-day dance. a thrifted express pairing (these two items were found at two different thrift stores but look like they were part of same collection), michael kors stilettos, leather coat and kate spade purse. mob wife much?

what am i looking forward to this week?
i'm in the mood to binge some steamy period pieces - perhaps catch wuthering heights in the theater? might i say, i am not satisfied with the casting, but i haven't been at the movies in forever. sib and i are finally going to start bridgerton season 4, and i'm hoping for more days spent outdoors now that the weather is looking sunnier. also, i'm in a mood for a new style challenge, inspired by a substack trend...
