10-26-2025 MY WEEK: my croset

the start of the week goes in a haze of last minute cleaning and packing, and stress-calling boyfriend, confusing each other with our check in for the flight. add on time zone incompatible face times with sib, leaving her up until late at night, and myself facetiming the sun away.

yet the thrill of flying awaits me once again, as i take boyfriend - and you guys - into the fall world of my childhood.

my diet for the next 2 and half weeks

week 1 was filled with jet lagged mornings, shopping trips and last minute olive oil process. we went hiking in a local national park paklenica, where our aunt competed with us (yeah, my stamina is at an all time low - i'm in hedonist mode). we treated ourselves with a fish dinner and bottle of wine friday night.

our haul consisted of two bomber jackets (red leather for me and a nylon blue for sib), and sib got some walking shoes from h&m.
i went through our childhood closets, uncovering some old forgotten pieces from my mom, secondhand items she left for us, and some gems from my high school days. i truly have no business shopping for more clothes. here's a glimpse of my croatian closet - aka the croset

finally, a cool conversation happened while waiting for my flight at the airport. kithi - the founder of merazine (y'all know i talk a lot about that app), reached out for some feedback to users. it was super sweet, she called and asked questions, explaining wanting to know more about the people using the app, and how to optimize the app. it was so sweet to have such personal contact, it's clear she dedicates a lot of time and effort into this cute app.

this week's looks

this week we're seeing some "new" items - from my childhood closet. i am super excited to work with these pieces, it feels refreshing and fun and i feel happy to be sustainable. since i'm only here for two and a half weeks, i think i could do lots of good work with what i have. my skirt collection here is to die for.

monday i wore a super basic tomboy outfit for work (halfway into vacay mode, and totally uninspired to focus an hour longer on work). a secondhand sweatshirt, heavyweight so i didn't need a jacket, straight legged jeans, and not pictured here is my vlajternativa tote and converse. peep that no thanks beanie - i wore it in the last week or so more than the previous years. indie sleaze is so back

tuesday for a half ass day at work i wore a cropped white blouse and wide leg old navy jeans. i wore those charlotte russet boots i planned to take with me. no need to take them, though, but no worries - my mom has quite the collection (and we're the same size)
for our flight (tuesday night thru wednesday), my quiet luxury look was great in my point of view. white 3/4 cotton tee, swapped the jeans with flowy linen pants from house, ugg slippers, and my mom's old trench coat. from airport observations: trench coats are a great fall trend!

thursday i wore an all black look with cream heel boots and a cream zara pleather jacket for a day at the mall. then taking a walk to grocery store, still all black look, borrowed boots from mom, and brand new bomber jacket
friday for our hike - a feature with sib. red bomber jacket, nike beanie, layered with a hoodie sib bought at the airport last year (impulse buy), leggings and borrowed her h&m sneakers she just got
for our family dinner i took the moment to dress up a bit, sweater dress, kate spade bag, mom's brown high boots, and a brown blazer jacket.

a casual look for morning coffee with the family on saturday. sib's blue bomber jacket, a slouchy black top, and zara jeans. ugg slippers and this vintage new york and co. purse.
dropping off uncle at the bus station in the afternoon prompted a change in the fit (a bit subtle) - zara cargo trousers, and my childhood fave beanie (i am forcing this comeback).
and finally for saturday, a night out bar hopping - new yorker bomber jacket, zara mens wool sweater, my mom's vintage jeans, and cole haan chrome loafers with an off-white aldo shoulder bag. i still smell like an ashtray.

sunday i wore an old navy knit top, high waisted jeans, my old vans shoes, sib's bomber jacket, and a tote bag with knit deets. we went to church later, so i swapped the bomber jacket for a trench coat.

what am i looking forward to next week?

reconnecting with family and friends, road trips, and perhaps more shopping this week! we're doing more bar hopping between gin tonics and lattes.
