10-19-2025 MY FAVES: i love a complex woman topic...

 books of the week

i read city of ashes and cringed at the painful awkwardness of the brief incestuous relationship the two characters have. you just know they're not supposed to be siblings but it just feels gross even reading about it. sorry if this was a spoiler alert for you.
i also discovered (through the various goodreads quotes) that this book series was initially a harry/ginny fan fiction. john green, might i suggest your next research to be every book is a fan fiction
the book itself had that young adult fantasy action to it, but with my grown age, in the big 25 - lots of stuff is vague, pointless, or there's plot holes. like the tarot use and catholic/christian mythology (a bit).
next book, which i will be bringing with me, most likely, is another book i won at the goodreads giveaway, called the period brain, and it tackles the stressful question any and every woman struggles with: what the hell is my pms?!
looking forward to this one.
i also read the latest vogue australia edition - honoring giorgio armani, australian actresses, and latest fashion trends from down under. an article that amazed me the most - was titled coat of many colors -  and it was about the aboriginal contemporary artist  kaylene whiskey. i was enchanted by her positivity, girlhood, and colorful art.

music of the week

i discovered a croatian surfer rock band lhd i am hoping to see live at hometown in a few weeks. here's two albums i vibed to this week: summer is over and  off the grid. totally gnarly.
here's another top 5 songs of this week:
boyband - 5sos
afterthought - tame impala
she belongs to me - bob dylan
bob dylan's 115th dream - bob dylan
kiss from a rose - seal

i played 40 hours of music this week - that's a whole work shift right there.
can i get paid for that?!
