6-8-2025 MY WEEK: it's summer, i got my hat on backwards and it's time to fucking party!
i can finally say we've been blessed with summer time starting this week, and already my social life is blossoming like our new hibiscus we got!🌺
my weekend kind of started on thursday when bestie viki invited us to ohio city and we discovered 16-bit, an arcade/bar. boyfriend chose some pride friendly cocktails, the group played cornhole, and i discovered a talent for pinball.

friday i celebrated my work bestie's birthday, and i discovered a new dive bar - lino's - and it is perhaps one of the better one's i've been to as of late. saturday we celebrated my cousin's graduation.
and i cannot believe i almost forgot to mention our neighborhood pool finally opened so i've been enjoying refreshing moscow mules in the sun and tanning - unsuccessfully.
this weekend and the summer vibes prompted me to share with you all my cocktails of the week, because i cannot call myself an alcoholic - i am simply a cocktail connoisseur. my plan is to try out and hopefully make various cocktails over the next couple months.
my top cocktails of the week have been the mentioned moscow mule - incredibly refreshing, and organic ginger beer is the best. next up is sex on the beach - which i haven't had in such a long time, but one of my work friends got it during the birthday party and i got a taste for it. during the birthday party i also had mango jalapeno margarita - terrible for your stomach but the fresh jalapeno is so good with the sweet mango. i am almost convinced to buy myself the ingredients and make them at home. finally, at my cousin's grad party - because she has good taste - the cocktail of the night was a pornstar martini (but we censored it and just called it a passionfruit martini). y'all know i love this shit because i've wrote about it back in february. both cousin and i discovered our love for it in croatia.

i also did my nails for the busy weekend and my inspo was just as summer-y: beach glass was the vibe: different shades of blue and green, added shimmery glaze then matte top coat, with droplets and borders of regular top coat for a wet shine.
looks of the week
this week was bold, experimental, colors were mixed and matched, metals were mixed and matched, even some patterns were mixed and matched. everything from greyscale to colorful splatters and pastels were seen. i think it's the excitement of warm weather and fun going out activities that i can go as frugally dressed or layered as possible.

for my cousin's grad party saturday i felt daring and mixed and matched metals and metallic shades. a metallic gold vest top, dark grey skirt with pleated hems, and huge bcbg silver metallic wedges (horrible if you have a backyard party - i almost fell three times on the uneven ground, but super comfy regardless of the height). i wore a bunch of bangles, chunky rings and added my vivienne westwood silver/pearl necklace on top of my gold butterfly necklace. not pictured is purse of choice: a black leather kate spade hobo bag with brown details.

finally, we woke up this morning to attempt going to church and we wore our sunday best: a leopard printed top, and tiered skirt. it was raining, but what really got us was the fact our church has a festival the parking lot was blocked and we were not equipped for the rainy walk. so we changed for a casual look for the library: american eagle wide corduroy pants and added my kate spade shoulder bag.
what am i looking forward to this week?
i'm going to make more cocktails and vibe by the pool more after work, but my plan is not to be lazy with the poolside fits. i am still trying to be a fashion blogger. that's a 24hr job. there's a lot of local concerts and fitness events sib and i might go to beside poolside laziness, and this upcoming weekend is my neighborhood garage sale, and we signed up mostly because boyfriend has a ton of his stuff he wants to get rid of. so we'll probably purge some of our own stuff too and hopefully get rid of stuff and get cash. this summer doesn't feel cheap at all and remember - we've already had a lesson in recession indicators...
