6-1-2025 MY FAVES: horrors of the natural and supernatural.
books of the week
i continue to chew on the not so subtle racial slurring in h.p. lovecraft's great tales of horror and am currently on the story called the shadow of innsmouth. super well depicted, like the sceneries and smells feel vivid. the "local" peasant dialogue is a bit tough to read.
music of the week
miley cyrus' album something beautiful came out this week, and i was excited to see what disney's enfant terrible turned rock star had to offer this time.
glam rock meets pop and miley's rock star voice did not disappoint. my two faves in the album are walk of fame ft. brittany howard and every girl you've ever loved ft. naomi campbell.
in other news, it is now june aka pride month and here are top 5 of my fave songs at the moment, by queer artists:
conquest of spaces (2025 rework) - woodkid
fame - david bowie
is there somewhere - halsey
anxiety - doechii
corpo sensual - pablo vittar, matteus carrilho
movies of the week
boyfriend came over saturday night and brought snacks, while sib was on a baking rampage. this resulted in her requesting a movie night and we watched into thin air: death on everest, to fulfill sib's morbid mount everest curiosity. she fell asleep mid movie.
