2-9-2025 MY INSPO: blue velvet cinderella and the caftan cinderella

Valentine's day is a super big inspo this month, so anything pink and red and floral is on my moodboard at the moment. I've been finding Valentine's details and motifs in the current fashion month shows, and street styles.

Reconstructed jeans are on my wishlist, seeing them somewhere online, then a TikTok tutorial. They really make a staple look unique. I begged sib to sew some for me.

I was scouring Pinterest for some guidelines or inspo on a good shoe choice for my blue velvet dress I plan to wear for Valentine's day. I still don't feel inspired with anything I saw, so I'm just going through my closet this week and trying each shoe, kind of like a reverse
Cinderella. Here's some inspo pics I saved for styling references.

Of course Bratz are my infinite inspo, and I finally decided to go through Pinterest and find my old dolls, and play dress up with my current closet. It was like a mix of playing with the Bratz and daily dress up games online, all while creating inspos for future outfits and events. These girlies really had the passion for fashion! I'm sharing a few looks (and nostalgia toward my old dolls).

When we were at the MIX at the Museum, my eyes laid upon a woman wearing a stunning caftan in a print I cant even describe, it was abstract and tribal and simply colorful, and the material flowed so effortlessly. A couple years back I purchased, on a whim, a caftan from H&M and honestly it wasn't the kind of chic flowy material or structure I wanted and needed. But this woman's caftan was so perfect. I wanted to ask her about it, but I ended up forgetting, and toward the end of the night I didn't get to see her. I did my research to find something similar in silhouette or pattern, and stumbled upon a vintage sewing pattern, which I saved for sib.
I had a Liz Taylor Barbie doll in a gown of the same color!

The pink floral caftan pictured on this vintage pattern might be the closest to color and silhouette, so far what I can find online!

The caftan is definitely a spring/summer inspo, and so so dreamy. Until then I'll be at the thrift searching for a pattern as close as I can find to the caftan of my dreams...
