10-4-2026 MY WEEK: back to the place!

apologies for the late posts. sib and i took an impromptu trip to croatia to help complete paperwork with parents. i thought my ancient laptop or computer could be of assistance, and my phone was being a bitch uploading photos. it was just a week trip, less than what we're used to, but we returned and i feel like i was gone for a while.

i want to talk about all the fun fashion i saw within the week. we had a layover in brussels before our final destination, and i was pleasantly surprised by the fashion these groups of senior citizens displayed! i snapped some incognito pics of these ladies. 

i applaud this lady in heels.

these ladies don't shy from color, i thought it was copenhagen fashion week!

in case you were curious what this year's fashion trends are looking like in croatia, here's four trends i noticed from people watching with my macchiatos:

reconstructed tailoring
when we went to church, i saw a ton of girls in various suit sets, often styled with tee shirts. what stood out was not the color but rather shapes. some sets were sleeveless, some distressed, or cropped. it was a playful twist on a classic.

frumpy layering
when we stopped at the mall, many girls, and mannequins, were dressed in layers: striped, oversized sweaters, or sweatshirts with college slogans paired with crisp white button downs or the illusion of such.

edgy anomalies
i've seen more alt-girl inspired fits this year: small tee and big pant combo with studded belts and belly button rings peeking. pale girls with dark hair and impeccable makeup skills dressed in anime hoodies and black acid wash jeans

asia express
that's the name of the new reality show we watched per mother's request, in which croatian celebrities have to hitch hike through southeast asia and complete various tasks. the girls in the show wear balloon pants, bandanas and tanks, their hair often braided because the heat is unbearable.
at the malls, qipao tops and frog closures can be found in bershka, stradivarius, and pull and bear. the only difference is - i haven't seen a brave white croatian girl rock a qipao (yet).

here's a rapid fire look rundown from the past two weeks:

monday (9/21) work. i wore an old navy top and dkny skinny jeans. blue accessories, sib's purse and slingback flats.

tuesday (9/22) i wore a heavily beaded top with corduroy skirt and suede heels, gold accessories and leather purse - for work. 

sib went car shopping and i accompanied her during errands, wearing an i <3 italia tee, skinny jeans, loafers and rose tote bag

wednesday (9/23) i wore a very simple fit for work: sublime sweatshirt, vintage mom jeans, leather purse, gucci sunnies and loafers.

thursday work (9/24): mr potato head graphic tee, mom jeans, adidas tote, green gazelles.

travel

work

friday (9/25) i wore a peachy top and black denim, and some brown accessories, sweater, longchamp tote and heels. for our evening trip to cro, i wore a black tank, sweatpants, vans shirt, uggs, longchamp tote and gucci sunnies. 

saturday (9/26) i wore a graphic tee, sunnies, sweatpants and the vans top with sneakers from h&m for an evening walk with mom and sib.

sunday (9/27) i wore a leopard print top and wide leg grey jeans, loafers, red purse, sunnies, and black blazer. we got coffee in the morning and then church.

monday (9/28) we got coffee, finished the paperwork we needed to be there for, then i went into scouting venues for our big day (working ahead over here). i wore a blazer and wide leg pants, purple baby tee, kate spade leather purse, vans splatter print shoes. got inspired by all the tailored chicks out here!

evening walk and reading ok je ok teen magazine. wore a black baby tee, large adidas sweatpants, white converse, adidas tote.

morning coffee with family on tuesday (9/29). i wore a black top and grey pants, gemstone studded chelsea boots, red purse, gucci sunnies.

evening at friend's place. i wore a brown fringed top, wide leg jeans, italian heels with red bottoms (!!!), gold clutch and cream cropped trench

wednesday (9/30) errands, then dinner with family. i wore a red tank top to match the adidas tote, sweatpants and startas sneakers with gucci sunnies.

thursday (10/1) coffee date with our friend.  i wore a 2000s top and brown suede skater skirt, brown leather bracelet, boots, and purse, tortoise shell sunnies

another evening walk. i wore a navy chanel tee and leggings, h&m sneakers, and a simple black knit cardigan.

friday 10/2. we got coffee, then we went to check out more venues and then shopping spree at mall. i wore a dusty rose knit turtleneck with no sleeves, and chocolate midi skirt. splatter paint vans, suede bcbg generation purse, brown accessories.

saturday 10/3. coffee date with the fam.  i wore a black slouchy tee, and new jeans from bershka. paired with b&w details: aldo purse and boots, and valentino black and white sunnies.

for evening walk and hangout with cousins, i wore a waffle knit sweatshirt, zara cargo pants, and startas sneakers.

sunday (10/4)  a tedious time travelling back. comfort was key. i wore a vintage gap sweatshirt and chanel tee underneath, sweatpants, uggs, and lonchamp. the travel unifrom.

what am i looking forward to this week?

SLEEP. lots of it. and finally picking back up on blogging. okay, i might even squeeze in fun fall activities.
