8-16-2026 MY FAVES: fashion, champs, tuscany and vamps

 what i'm reading...

if you read what i'm up to this week already, you won't be surprised by the title anatomy for runners. this book breaks down the science behind proper training and running to avoid injury. while i think the book has great tips like stretching practices i saved, the language is incredibly sexist! lots of anecdotes judging the teenage girl (what the fuck is f.a.t.s. - female adolescent texting syndrome?), dogging on how women are pretty much inferior and prone to injury, how skirts deform women's legs... at first i thought i was just looking into it too hard. i complained to sib who stated, "maybe there is some science behind it, like womens' cycles and hormones?". not totally wrong, but the misogynistic tone kept bugging me, i reviewed what others had to say on goodreads, and no, i am not being crazy. others saw it too. i'm trying to take in the knowledge, but this guy, no matter how huge the expert, is now very off-putting.

i also read fashion magazine canada, september issue. the editors predicted the following ten trends to look out for this fall/winter season:

i'm really excited for the fancy footwork, big coats, and grandpa sweaters, what about you?

what i'm watching...

we ditched pretty little liars for a rewatch of the vampire diaries season 1. we were so obsessed with this show, they used to play it on croatian tv at obscure times like 1am or even 3am. thankfully we were on summer break so we spent our evenings on our laptop or desktop playing world of warcraft or reading one direction fanfics (i was writing my own, thank you very much!) to stay up. so we often revisit this show with such nostalgia.

while renting tvd at the library, i also got us you, me, tuscany. it's a cute rom com i've been dying to see, but it left me running around the house because of the suspense. rege-jean page is so mister dreamy, and i believe the side characters were the best. if you end up watching, keep the credits rolling for some fun cameos!

what i'm listening to...

here's this week's top 5 songs i saved. i'm latching onto summer beats because i am not ready for fall yet!

trebam nekoga - petar grašo
splitski đir - oliver dragojević
replay - zendaya
paris 2006 - axel boman
butterfly - crazy town
i forgot to bring my speaker to the float the river on saturday, but i still blasted some hits off my phone. no, i cannot just enjoy the sounds of nature around me, i need it to feel like a beach bar at all times. here's some 90s croatian music i played for us:
ja sam vlak - nina badrić & emilija kokić
hajde da ludujemo - tajči
šumica pt 1 - ivana banfić
tek je 12 sati - et
iza ponoći - ella
