6-28-2026 MY FAVES: dalmatian culture
what i'm reading...
i read vogue adria. it's a great beach read for hot sticky afternoons by the beach, when locusts overpower conversation.
i also tapped into my inner teen and read the latest ok je ok! here's what ok! predicts for spring/summer 2026:
![]() |
| all shades of pink "various pink shades are coming back in style, especially pastel combinations or high contrast. if you think that pink 'is childish', think again." |
![]() |
| black and white world "for days you want to look serious (but also cool), black and white are your companions. find an interesting top, checkered print or simple clean lines." |
![]() |
| a game of dots and flowers "florals and polka dots returned this spring with extra geometric and abstract patterns that will guarantee you won't go unnoticed in the school hallways". |
what i'm listening to...
we went to a concert showcasing traditional dalmatian a cappella singing - klapa. multiple a cappella groups sang traditional dalmatian songs, my faves were all-female groups.
if you're not familiar with the soothing sounds of klapa, here's 5 songs that are a great introduction to this genre:
izresla ruža rumena - ženska klapa dalmatinke
ćale moj - ansambl dalmacija
ćiribiribela mare moja - klapa filip dević split
ružo crvena - klapa sveti juraj hrm
dalmatino povišću pritrujena - klapa cambi
perhaps you found your fave summer vibe through these tunes. if that's the case, check out večer klapske pisme for more.
what i'm watching...
mom got tickets for a local play called infišacije. it's always fun to see how fiancé is trying to understand what the fuck is happening. context is sometimes nonexistent.
on the airplane home, i watched two documentary series on fashion houses, featuring gucci and versace.
