y'all survived the blue monday? if you're in the midwest, i commiserate - snow storms and staying stuck at home, that's the vibe this week. unfortunately, the mood is getting yuckier with the political happenings in our states, so doomscrolling has been ever so depressing.sib and i managed to go out for a bit - sib needed new walking shoes. what a better excuse to get out the house than some window shopping. also, what a better time than post-holiday season, with leftover returns.
we get to ross, our holy grail for great branded shoes for the fraction of the price. scour each size (you never know, maybe my size 7 is hiding among 10). sib found adidas x stella mccartney shoes, i forced her to try them. not it, too big, damn. she found another pair of nike's instead. no stellas in my size. i too, take a peak at shoes my size, find a pair of jessica simpson black wedges. i'll never turn away a pair of jessica simpsons. they're so comfy! besides, i've been in a long search for new simple wedges since my vintage ones started to fall apart.
then we peep these burdine maxwell looking kitten heel mules - red with a cool undertone. our judgment? we're in a full bratz frenzy, since it's all we watch throughout the week. they're $10 - and if we get size 7.5, both of us can wear one pair. with valentine's day coming up, they'd be the cutest sweethearts! 💗 mother of pink!let's go ahead and style my haul: it's been a minute since i've shared what's in my bag: .jpeg) |

this week's looks
layering is mandatory as the temps dip below 0. i'm talking egregiously giant scarves, cardigans and sweaters, and strictly pants. no pantyhose could pass these frigid days. overall, earthy tones dominated the palette for the week. but the color was brought in with eccentric winter accessories.
tuesday i wore a knitted pattern baby blue sweater and american eagle straight jeans. a crocheted gradient scarf, grey beanie, moto boots, my giant down coat and gold hobo bag. i like this colorful scarf, why shy away from funky winter accessories?
wednesday i wore a 3/4 wavy pattern top with tan and brown tones and turquoise. black armani bootcut jeans, doc martens, gold-tone jewelry, and marc jacobs tote bag in olive/khaki shade.
thursday i wore a knit top and huge scarf with tan flowy pants. white platform doc's, long leather trench, and ralph lauren shoulder bag and ray bans for accessories of choice.
kept it casual and neutral for dinner with sib and boyfriend. a football tee and brown cardigan (again), flared sweatpants, brown puffer, ralph lauren bag, "no thanks" beanie, ugg slippers.
friday at work - pops of rec. bright graphic sweatshirt to match the graphic hat, and pattern mixing between the houndstooth purse and plaid scarf.
saturday's last minute grocery run for necessities before this "disastrous snowstorm" resulted in a detour to check out the ice scuptures. colorful accessories dominated this look and made the utilitarian dullness mroe feminine and whimsical.
what am i looking forward to next week?
boyfriend and i are taking another day trip to the columbus area for my work meeting, and hopefully another chance to explore fun vintage stores, dainty restaurants, and minimal snow (fingers crossed!) and can you believe we're approaching the blog's first anniversary?! lots of celebratory themes coming along, stay tuned!
