christmas time came and went, making commotion weeks prior but then silently - like the song - enters our lives, and passes, leaving glitter and wrapping paper for us to clean up, and hopefully it also left hope for a better future. that's the whole point, right?
i enjoyed making some handmade gifts like a calendar for boyfriend and cards for my coworkers. tedious, but always so much fun. every year i say i'll start with the artsy gifts early, every year i scramble last minute.
i got an unexpected "gift" this year - which was just the millionth cold i caught. i managed to get the christmas festivities in, but on the 26th, i half-assed work and cancelled the rest of my plans.
now i get to happily reminisce the fun i had, and the lovely gifts i got! let's style some of my haul, some i already had a chance to style...
vintage crossbody purse with embroidered beads, (brand: sasha). got this from my work bestie. for a cute antiquing outing, i'd style it with a simple blue top and flared jeans, and vintage leather details. the purse is so colorful, i anticipate many wears!bath and body works tote - thank you to boyfriend's grandma for the champagne toast set of everything! my fave new year's scent (and an everyday fave honestly). this sturdy felt tote has a keyring so i can customize it. here's a summertime look for running errands and future window shopping.
i told ya tee - this is going to be worn a lot. here i styled it for a potential casual chill brunch date.
armani silos tote - gifted by boyfriend's sister. she was modeling for a few months in milan, and visited the armani prive museum. she was wonderful to gift me a piece of fashion. i liked the neon green and thought of mixing with more pops of color - for a sporty summer, possibly baseball game? a magenta jacket and pumas.

words cannot express how grateful i am, and how lucky and privileged i am to have wonderful people surrounding me and supporting me. i got so many beautiful things, and i felt very loved by the people around me. of course, it's not about all the stuff i got, i am the most thankful for everyone i get to celebrate the holidays with. these are people that are my family here, especially when i can't teleport back to my parents each minute. this week's looks
i found my tripod i got for christmas 3 years ago from sib. the fit pics are getting a revamp they deserve. and the tripod is getting its use too.
this week i wanted to do a style challenge, following the viral ralph lauren three-piece rule. no official definition, other than ralph lauren store employees requiring to wear top-bottom-statement piece (jacket, belt, vest, sweater, hat; minimum of three items) - to make an outfit complete. people say other higher end store employees follow this "dress code" to appear put-together. i thought this is a good opportunity to avoid the lazy sweater + pants, and to use layering as a fashionable advantage.
monday i wore a striped ann taylor blouse under a vintage sweatshirt with red embroidery. h & m skinny pants, red bomber jacket, gold hobo bag. wasn't that terrible weather so i sported the new sneakers boyfriend bought for my birthday. pants + blouse + sweatshirt
tuesday i wore a mesh bodysuit with cherub print under my vince sweater dress. calzedonia tights with chrome finish, steve madden boots and puffer jacket. dress + bodysuit + tights
wednesday at work. annoyed to be working on xmas eve, but i donned my gay apparel: sandy liang for target jumpsuit, and a ralph lauren shirt on top. red ballet flats and the bomber jacket again. zilennial santa suit. jumpsuit + shirt + necklacesxmas eve mass - this is when i started not feeling my best. but we show up for our boy jc. i've been yearning to wear silk skirt+cashmere sweater, so my church fit was a silk slip under my cashmere sweater, steve madden heels, cape coat and leather gloves. dress + sweater + coat
christmas day (thursday) fit. black turtleneck, leopard print skirt (borrowed from sib who took it from mom), black tights. vintage leather jacket and the chanel sunnies to match. those dorothy red shoes again. sweater + necklaces + skirt (+tights?)
friday back to work because nothing makes sense. wore an all-black ensemble, pinstripe blouse with puffy sleeves and i.am.gia. cargo pants. new hat and converse with the bomber jacket. red is simply my color this fall. hat + blouse + cargo pants
[saturday was spent at home as i recovered from my cold]
sunday we went to see cousins for lunch and i wore two more of my gifts: the ralph lauren crossbody and the watch. sib complimented my ralph lauren-esque fit. skirt is a corduroy piece from our mom, and the sweater is thrifted vince camuto. sweater + tights + skirt (+bag?)
what am i looking forward to next week?
the whole week is highlighted by the new year celebration midweek. feeling less overwhelmed by the excessive holiday cheer and planning and just dedicating my time to fully recover by nye - it's supposed to be frigid, and i have an outfit i am not switching for comfort.
