with some revamps going on at home (the life of a showgirl homeowner), sib and i have been focusing on decorating, decluttering, constant cleaning, budgeting, and planning. multitasking between work and setting up appointments, our comfort is on pause. a bit inconvenient timing before our trip to the mediterranean to see our parents, but we could also flip the script in a positive light and say - hey, thankfully things are getting done while we're here!
i know i've written about the growing pains and joys of being a homeowner, and i (oldest daughter and mental health professional) need to take notes on handling these stressful situations. instead of initial panic and running around feeling lost, i need to follow sib's approach. "stay stoic and emotionless, because we're two grown adults and we don't need to be babied."
friday we allowed ourselves to take a break from housework and go to the october mix with the hispanic heritage theme. we practiced our beginner salsa moves, checked out some artwork (100 marilyns by andy warhol), and downed jarritos margaritas (cocktail of the week!)
boyfriend got a fabulous national boyfriend day by taking me out to a golf course and teaching me how to golf on saturday. i get the appeal of riding around on golf cart, blasting music, and smacking balls all over the place. but there's something sinister about this "sport" - the heavy fertilizers used on the lawn, the annoying elitist rules of the sport, the elite air at the country clubs, it makes it less appealing. but hey - i got to dress up cute, drink in the sun (sidenote: this is an extremely hot start of october for ohio), and learn something new.
looks of the week
with some remodeling going on at home, particularly stuff in my room, i've been spending less time delicately preplanning and pampering before work, so my fits throughout the days are repetitive, comfortable, and very simple. still, there's a bohemian air with the accessories, the colors, and later in the week, full blown boho blouses and skirts.
monday for work i wore a ralph lauren royal blue bateau neck top, with diane von furstenburg slacks, and converse. tote of the week - van gogh. for my lash lift i wore biker shorts and skechers, and for evening grocery run, i wore birkenstocks and added a vans shirt.
tuesday for work i wore this purple and black top, and i.am.gia. cargo pants. converse again. for goodwill run (just dropping off donations!) i wore this orville peck yellow tee, biker shorts, puma palermo's and steve madden sunnies. for evening walk i wore champion sweatpants and the same vans shirt with my skechers - classic.
wednesday for work i wore a navy tank under a gauzy boho pattern blue blouse. added some cream slacks, zara sandals, and van gogh tote with rings and sunnies per usual thursday for work i wore now a green! tank with green hue boho blouse! this one has little beads and shells on the neckline and around the wrists. off-white pants and black flats with gold hardware. tortoise shell sunnies and signature rings. this color palette was one of my favorites.
friday for work i wore a turtleneck sleeveless top, stacked necklaces, and a layered maroon skirt (half gauzy half satin), and loafer flats.for mix, i wore a second hand halter top, sib's raffia belt, a colorful maxi skirt, tons of bangles (mostly vintage), sib's coach bag and the new steve madden heels i bought last week!
saturday sib and i did a shopping spree for our mom (facetiming her in the middle of a jcpenney as her personal virtual shoppers) for our upcoming trip back to homeland. i wore a white cropped tank and a denim maxi skirt. van gogh tote and steve madden sandals.for golf date i borrowed sib's cropped sage green polo from american eagle, and styled it with a sporty black skort, my pumas, and van gogh tote and a tie dye hat i barely wore.
sunday we finished our errands and i wore a diesel tee, light wash denim shorts, loafer flats from target, and some of my accessories.
what am i looking forward to next week?
as we slowly conclude some home updates, sib and i will be decluttering, and planning our packing list for our soon visit to homeland. on this blog, i mention a lot about the mediterranean, and soon we'll get a glimpse of that documented right here! i managed to convince boyfriend to come with me to another salsa class this week. will he be brave enough to actually go? lastly, i'm brewing up some new style challenges for the week.
