3-30-25 MY WEEK: pleats and patterns
i finally got some time to do my nails this week, and followed the inspo pic, to some degree.
i asked boyfriend his opinion on them. he described them as "very austin powers core". i guess i can see the groovy in these babies. i was thinking they were giving cute alien - like ariana grande in break free or her and lady gaga's rain on me or the iconic zenon - girl of the 21st century movie with raven symone. your thoughts?

even though we were joking about recession indicators in fashion, during our people watching, we could observe the transition from winter to spring, and what cleveland is wearing lately. i can only say that men will always look like a disappointment. sib and i debriefed and could agree that the bodycon seamless type bodysuit tops were a go-to, only standing out by open backs or maybe a pop of color (pretty much just red) with jeans and, for the most part, sneakers - sib's complaint? - not enough accessories. no jewelry or accessories to give these basic (but not inherently bad) looks more je ne sais quoi. now truck park in lakewood is not necessarily a dress-up place, but still, a warm night out served as an opportunity for some girls to get the mini skirts and shorts out (including us). vic s and i agreed one of the looks that stood out was a girl in sequin leopard shorts, high black boots and a tube top. i loved it so much. vic's observation of the night:
personally only two outfits come to mind, most were in jeans and a cute top, a cute but basic choice, no tops or jeans stood out to me particularly. one outfit that stuck out to me was denim on denim white lingerie top, personally I love a look that combines street wear with STREETS clothing.
fits of the week
monday for work i wore an old sweater from my mom, denim calvin klein skirt, calzedonia brown tights, charlotte russe boots, puffer jacket (it was super windy i was almost in pain from the cold), work bag and my asymmetrical sunglasses
felt playful on wednesday at work. under this sweater that reminds me of one the secretary from love, actually has, i wore a mesh newspaper style top, and my mom's old grey skirt with pleats on the bottom.
thursday continued the playfulness with this extremely maximalist and campy "fall" pleated blouse. paired with slacks and white doc martens boots.
friday i wore a thrifted uniqlo sweatshirt with skinny jeans and converse, and this vintage red leather jacket. sib told me i used her formula for outfits.
saturday for brunch boyfriend and i visited VG for some pastries and a wonderful pistachio cold brew at versare, our new favorite third place. i actually brought my laptop to finish up more snippets of this week's blog - and am editing it in real time now.

sunday morning we went to VG's yoga class in a gym nearby, and got brunch afterward. what a great way to end the weekend. i wore a simple yoga fit, but later for brunch added my strand bookstore sweatshirt.
finally, sunday evening i met with boyfriend for dinner at a mexican restaurant during his work break. i wore a thrifted rhcp t shirt, black jeans from target, and this secondhand purse with my uggs. keep it lazy.
gotta give sib some huge credit as she took a full day to create her own version of the moschino cheap and chic 90s piano pleated skirt. can't wait to borrow this creation.
what am i looking forward to this week?
a new month is ahead of us, and warmer days too. the cleveland museum of art is doing their monthly mix parties so i hope to make it this friday. the next weekend will be spent with boyfriend and his family, and i'm always happy for a calm but fun time like that.
